Sorry I meant cosmotologists. My parents are forcing me to choose an religion but I am torn between a few of them and I need some answers before I choose.

Rifght now II am confused about this darwin article and i have read it like 5 or 6 times and it is pretty lengthy.

I'm a biologist and I'm confused about that article Press releases have a tendency to be... crap.

Now, I've looked at the paper just to see what it's really about.

What the study tested is whether all three domains of life come from a single common ancestor. This is an important question, but it has little to do with whether evolution is a good explanation of the diversity of life today. Evolution is a given in this study: the question is how many starting points it had. And we're talking about "starting points" at a very deep level, waaaaay beyond what your average creationist is preoccupied with. No one doubts that, say, all animals share a common ancestor.

In other words, if you are undecided about evolution, this new study is probably not the best place to start. For that purpose, I can recommend the UC Berkeley evolution site.

I know christianity has the better holidays with christmas and easter, but all science has is earth day or some other [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] holidays.

Science is not a religion, and science has no holidays. Earth Day is a political/educational idea, it is neither religious nor scientific (although science certainly contributes to knowledge about the issues Earth Day is supposed to raise awareness of)

But rest assured, atheists aren't forbidden to celebrate Christmas and Easter. They just have a slightly different focus

But however I like scientology becoz it is based on proven facts and is easier to accept, no leap of faith to make etc.

What proven facts is it based on?

Christianity requires a leap of faith but it is way more badass with all the walking on water and violence/killings/punishment, etc. plus better holidays with gifts. Basically i am looking for some guidance as to what i should choose.

btw I dont really want to pick any of them because i believe that there is no god (or at least no god in the standard "god figure" sense, there is most likely some sort of higher power that we do not yet/ will not ever be able to understand). My parents are not thrilled with my viewpoint, however, and are forcing me to choose a religion or i am not to allowed to go on my summer class field trip to cedar point, so i am at least trying to get "the most for my buck"

Pick the religion of your parents. That'll get you in their good books. Of course, you won't really be in that religion, because you don't believe any of its tenants.

And neither science nor evolution are religions. Scientology, which, despite the name, is completely unrelated to science, is a business masquerading as a religion, but it's not a real religion.
