Man was created by the land with all the other forms of life.
Man was given a make-over or processed into the Image of
God in a Spiritual sense. Adam and Eve's descendants all suffer
from Adams choice after he was given the breath of life.
Eve's Spirit was not given "First" or "last" priority but was
taken from Adam's side.

As always, men focus on material things even while God's view
is only the Spirit.

That is the question I think many of us struggle with. Caught between hard evidence and scripture.

I view the story of Adam and Eve, not in literal form. A woman forming from a rib bone is a bit difficult for any of us to really understand in a realistic way. However, Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve holds many beautiful truths about morality, about marriage and relationships, about honesty and openness with God etc. There are many values and truths contained within Genesis, giving it great value and beauty, and truth. And this form of truth, and beauty can be accepted without there necessarily being a need for acceptance of a literal interpretation of a woman forming from a rib bone.

Thats how I take it, but of course everyone will have different views.

I view the story of Adam and Eve, not in literal form. A woman forming from a rib bone is a bit difficult for any of us to really understand in a realistic way. However, Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve holds many beautiful truths about morality, about marriage and relationships, about honesty and openness with God etc. There are many values and truths contained within Genesis, giving it great value and beauty, and truth. And this form of truth, and beauty can be accepted without there necessarily being a need for acceptance of a literal interpretation of a woman forming from a rib bone.

The 'rib' is a metaphor for the human origin of Eve, as opposed to the ground from which Adam was made. As such it is also a metaphor for the creation of Lucifer, from the very substance (rib?) of God, as opposed to the creation of the other angels (this is the most overlooked truth in all of Christianity, imo). It also was likely the actual way that God made each of them. That God 'considered' an animal as a helpmeet for Adam and found none suggests a great gulf between man and animal regardless of some similarities.

Of course there is a rather humorous irony in this as many people prefer animals over humans as companions, and many find them quite helpful.

I dont think I could reject either. I think the beauty and love displayed by Christ through salvation, is something that no person could really live without. Despite there being non believers in the world, the moral lessons and truths in scripture, I think are wholly truthful and cant really be rejected.

Scientific evidence on the other-hand, well, it is as true as the sun is bright. It is creation, as is the word of God.

So, i dont know that I ever could reject either. One could not be sacrificed for the other either, one could not take place for the other.

I guess thats why we are all in this boat of theistic evolution. We (those who are TEs) don't have a choice, or perhaps do not think we do.

When I was a theistic evolutionist, I didn't think there WAS any reason to choose. I did not have a problem accepting both science and Christianity. Science doesn't deal with theism (except when doing studies specifically on religious topics, of course), and the Bible is not a science book.

My loss of faith had much more to do with philosophy (logic, specifically) and history.
