Ten plagues.
During study of ten plagues of Egypt, it seems that entire nature of turned against Egyptians. Water became polluted and undrinkable and produced too many frogs, dust produced air-born diseases, earth produced gnats, sky released thunder-storm and hail, and in the 10th chapter came locust, and even light turned into darkness over the land of Egypt.
These all immediately reminded me of recent events in the south.
Is this sound familiar to us? We always have disasters on Earth from the day we populated it, and it is not surprising that GOD uses forces of nature to punish human beings for their ungodliness and evil.
And not only because of these great nature cataclysms much greater empires than we have today fell to their demise, but also because of other things like wars, invasions, and violence, that is also happened to Egyptian army when it perished in the waters of the Reed Sea.
But what we have today in out time? We have very similar disasters which year after year increase in their intensity and force. Is it because of the global warming and environment change we also have disaster on very large scale and extremely deadly, or it is happen to us because of something else?
If it is only a nature at work then a question arises, "Can anything happen in nature without notice or knowledge of GOD?" If answer is "Yes" then we are completely ungodly and will never get to the bottom of reasons for these disasters, nor could we would able to change anything to correct the problem.
It answer is "No" then we would admit that in all disasters of nature and its afflictions on us is the hand of GOD. So the following question would be "Why?" and "What we can do about?"
In order to answer these questions, first, we should ask ourselves, "Are we godly or ungodly people?" If we are ungodly, and we are, according to our domestic and foreign policies, when can we have a chance to repent, avoid future disasters, and save ourselves from complete destruction, at least for a time being?
Actually we can, and the best examples of these can be found in the Bible when Israel turned themselves to the Lord each time they suffered, and have been saved from all sorts of calamities and violence. And not only Israel, but let take a look at Nineveh in Assyria, which was a greatest empire in its time, but also very violent, and conquered many peoples by their military force.
GOD sent Jonah to them because of their wickedness in domestic and international policies, and GOD gave only 40 days for them to repent. And by hearing Jonah, amazingly, they actually repent, event which is happen very rare in human history. They change their ways and their policies and submitted themselves to the will of the GOD, Who is not even their GOD! They listen to GOD Whom they hardly know, and did not turn to their own gods for help who are many.
Eventually they saved themselves by their obedience to the word of GOD through Jonah. The calamity which GOD intended for them is not mentioned, only said that they will be overthrown if they would not drop their evil ways.
So according to all of these, there is a chance and possibility not only for us, but for entire world, to avoid such great calamities and disasters that coming on us more frequently and with more increasing force.
Personally, I take it as warnings from the Lord, and it only a matter of time then a next much more powerful and horrific disaster will strike, and would cause much greater human casualties.
So it is not only a matter of our industrial pollution, but of our spiritual pollution. And if we completely clean up our environment and put our industries on 100% renewable and recyclable level, it would not save us at all. The problem is not in the physical environment we created, but in the spiritual environment of our souls.
As a country, we are all have to come to GOD, at least on the basic level, and clean our souls from spiritual pollution, which are our own pride, arrogance, indifference, greed, aggression, lies, cheating, immorality, and violence. And only then we could see the change for the better and not only in nature, but in our own lives, in longevity, in prosperity, and in happiness.
