Unbelievers Are Easy Marks For Satan
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Believers by the Spirit deal directly with the flesh.
James 1:13-15 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.A believer who tries to assign blame to Satan for their own iniquity is willfully neglecting the victorious Life for the sake of the flesh, and in accommodation for the desires therein. When we are enticed and think that Satan or any spirit is involved, we have the authority to banish them from our lives with a simple “Get Lost, Satan.”
We are one on one with the flesh, and we have nothing less than the Holy Spirit of God at our side. The victory is ours whenever our desire to please the Father is greater than the desires of the flesh. Therefore, we are without excuse.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
If the unregenerate are without excuse, how much more so those who neglect so great a salvation.
Walking in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. This is precisely why Satan will be bound for 1000 years. The Law will go forth from Zion. Isaiah 2:3. There will be no “the devil made me do it”. Trespasses requiring the death penalty will be enforced, and in the end Satan will be loosed to lead a rebellion against such stringency. This is foreshadowed by the end of Solomon’s reign. 1 Kings 12; 2 Chronicles 10.
