please remember that life and God's love are two totally different things. Jesus lived here and his life was far from 'good' considering what he went through. Yet God loved Him and used Him to tell the world how much God loves us. In the state we are in, it's hard to see His love all of the time, but remember God is not of this world. Jesus wants us to be in this world, but not of it. That means things in this life are not going to be great, and sometimes they are going to be close to the worst we can imagine. Yet, that is why we need God's love, and no life is good without love. The most important thing Jesus knew was how beautiful and perfect God's love is, and he knew this world was going to be tough, but it's obvious to see through His creation that God is incredible beyond our understanding. It's also obvious that humans have not truly lived for him but for our own selfish reasons. Loving God and others is what gives us purpose in this world. Also remember that God is love and those who know love, know God. Please trust me, that God is listening to you, but we wouldn't have free will if God could just magically appear and make everything great the way we think it should be, that would be interfering with our free will.

I pray that God's love is with you always!!! (I don't think I've ever used the word love as many times as I just did, but it's true)

No one ever said life wouldn't suck. But it doesn't suck all the time. Life has ups and downs. That's jsut the way it is.

The biggest change in my life came when I chose to build a serious relationship with God. It forced me to not be selfish. Following Jesus is completely at odds with your self-interest. But in that paradox lies satisfaction. Not soft landings and roses and all that. Life may be hard. But you can sleep at night.
You begin to learn how to love the people around you and that love becomes an active part of your life.
Love is what has transformed me, and continues to transform me. It forces me to grow beyond myself.
Your faith is a committment that you made to follow jesus and to serve him as the lord of your heart and life.
Dude that is a hard road, but it's the only road.
It is a good road.

Look at it this way, if God never does anything for you the rest of your earthly life, didn't He already do enough on the cross? If you really understand the cross and the difference between heaven and hell you would realize what has been done for you. Jesus said "deny yourself and follow me". This isn't fun, denying yourself, but when you do the rest of what he said it becomes fun, serving others. If you try to follow Jesus without true repentance and without receiving the "comforter" that Jesus promised, it's going to be impossible and you will quite. We can't do it without Him. The most important reason for fellowship with brothers and sisters is to keep you from getting discouraged. When you find out that the world doesn't revolve around you and everyone has the same struggles it provides comfort. I'm praying right now that God will send His spirit to comfort you, I hope you will do the same. And call a brother or sister or pastor and tell them what you said hear.
In Christ

PS Don't forget, when you say yes to Jesus you attach a huge target on your chest that says "Satan shoot here".

Your life is so precious to Jesus He gave His so you could have a chance to live with Him forever. Not to garuantee He will live with you, but for a chance. He sees you as so valuable, He gave you the most valuable thing He had: Himself.

You are a child of the King. The royal blood of Heaven is in your veins. Jesus Himself is calling you by name. Calling you to be close to Him. The thing He wants most is you. He longs for you. Nothing is more important, valuable, or beloved to Him than you are. His heart is filled with an ache that nobody can comfort, except you.

I can give you lots of reasons why you shouldn't kill yourself but you may not think them much good. I could tell you about my sister's sorrow when her son blew his brains out. Or I can tell you of his younger brothers tears. Or the shock of his Grandmother (she was the one to find him). I could also tell you of my friend whos son hanged himself just before Christmas and all his friends who keep asking why? I can tell you in great detail of the pain that falls on those who are left behind and you can imagine that pain in your family. Maybe that would be a good reason? But then maybe it doesn't matter about them either!?...... But, you know, something keeps nagging at me... telling me that they do matter to you and that indeed life does matter for you, which is why you are here asking the question. Also it seems to me that maybe God isn't ignoring you after all because I'm writing this and others have responded to you too. I don't know... ...what do you think?

Morbid Unicorn,
I think at one time in our life we have all felt something like you're feeling. I'm not going to lie and say that I've never asked God "why?" We all are guilty, but I remember one time we had a woman minister come to our church. She preached about the vessel going through the fire. She said to think of our hard times as a compliment because obviously we are doing something the devil doesn't like or else he wouldn't be attacking us. Maybe God has something in store for you and all you have to do is stick with him. Kind of like Abraham and Isac. God told Abraham to kill his son to test his obdience to him, and God rewarded him afterwards. Just think Jesus suffered just as we did, and possibly even worse. He knows how you are feeling! I keep you in my prayers and I hope God will give you peace

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Christ promised us peace, but he did not say it would be easy, he said we would have trouble.

Maybe you should be honest with God and ask him. King David poured his heart out to God when his life sucked. I will pray that you discover why you should not kill yourself.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the impression from your posts that when you say you accept Jesus, you really don't know what it is you're saying. Like you heard a bunch of other people say it, and you said it to, and it didn't do anything for you.

In other words, I'm getting the impression you may be ignoring God, not the other way around. There's a lot more to it than just saying that you accept Jesus, and if you're still having thoughts of killing yourself, I have to think that you're not really living the lifestyle you should be.

And that's how you accept Jesus: learn what he taught, understand why things happen to you, and try to live the life he led. Bad things will happen to everyone. Maybe all the troubles in your life have been put there to coax you back to God and form a deep relationship with him? Since you're on this board, and if that's the reason, it's working (so far).

You shouldn't kill yourself because God does love you, and because we've all got some kind of purpose in life, and it sounds like you haven't found yours yet. My suggestion would be, consider how miserable, challenging, maybe depression, etc... your life has been. Now think of all the people who are worse off than you; maybe the homeless, orphans, people in undeveloped countries. Realize that everyone suffers and thank God every day that he's blessed you to where you don't have to suffer as much as others. Finally, go out to those people who are suffering more than you and help them. Whether it's helping at a shelter, missionary work, visiting shut-ins, doing medical/scientific research, or whatever. Clearly you don't like the suffering in your life (no one does), but if you're having no success in taking it out of yours, do your best to take it out of others.

Just saying that you accept Jesus doesn't cut it. Live the life. Do good deeds. And don't get too frustrated if things still are a little crummy. Remember that God does still love you, and he wouldn't give you something you couldn't handle. If you learn and live a Christian life, it won't guarentee a life free of suffering, but it will help you to understand and cope with your sufferings, and it'll show you why you shouldn't kill yourself.

Hope that helps.

What part of life sucks so bad? Is it not having all the things seen on TV? If you have health, two arms and legs, eyes that see, and ears that hear, then the possibilities for action and blessing are limitless. It takes more than just believing with the ears, but belief that takes on action where we do the things God says to do. Where we give to and serve others with our lives in some capacity, and at least seek Him in His Word. The world system is our enemy with all its hype and images of perfect bodies and idols that people want to worship - and the world thinks that there is no idol worship today - what a sad and tragic joke of the devil that people believe there is no idolatry today. People become so focused on theirselves that they are consumed by themselves. Don't kill yourself, or you may actually commit the ultimate act of selfishness, without meaning to. Don't be fooled by lies, but get up and step into the light. Have you studied the Bible or went to Church for help? Put legs to your faith. Reach out to God and draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Because you don't want to, what you want is someone to help you take away the pain and to show you what you have to live for.
Find a counselor you can talk too, therapists aren't all bad, find one to help. They do, they can help you deal with everything. Good luck.

What always helps me is to open my eyes and see all the many people, whose lives suck more than mine. And roll up my sleeves and try to show Jesus to them and make their lives better. It'll keep you too busy to think about how bad your life sucks, until one day you'll wake up and thank Him for all He's blessed you with, and that He is using you to bless others. Take one step, that's all. The rest will be easier. Also, you should know now, God sometimes uses sucky conditions to make us who we are supposed to be. It's all temporary, and it's all worth it. Hang in there, and please update us.
Love, Christi

Morbid,
I am so sorry that you are depressed. Being a teenager can be very difficult. There are many, many reasons that you should not kill yourself, but mostly because God loves you so much that he gave you life and it would hurt him deeply if you chose to end it before He was time. Becoming a Christian is not an event it is a life-long journey and experience. It can be very difficult and quite emotional. Please, hang in there, pray, and talk to your parents. And remember feelings are finicky....don't let them take over.
God loves you.

What a precious gift it would be to see ourselves through the eyes of those that love us the most. If you could only see yourself through the eyes of your mother or father, a good friend, or even of the brother or sister that never tires of taunting you, you would be aware of the absolute worth that your life has.

In our own eyes, as we stand naked before the mirror, our imperfections are only too apparent. But in God's eyes, in the eyes of those who love us, nothing could ever be more precious than that soul that stands before that mirror.

To see yourself through the eyes of those that love you would be to see your own true worth. Just as love is infinite, so too would be the suffering of those that love you if you were to disappear from their lives.

No matter how powerful the demons that appear before you now seem to be, the power of love is infinitely greater. Because God has deemed us all to be worthy of his love, we may come to believe in the absolute worth of our lives as well.

I'd say give it a few years. Being a teenager is incredibly stressful, and it does get better later.

Look at it this way: If you don't kill yourself now, you can always change your mind later. If you kill yourself now, you can't.
