Skyla nodded. It will be dinner time soon. Perhaps we could unpack you a bit before we head out. So... where would you like what, roomie??"

Skyla was so excited about having a roommate for the first time since her first year as a student.

Jordan waved good bye to Clover and headed back to his room. Lenny was lying on the bed. Jordan sat down on the bed across from him and stared at the boy.

"So... care to explain yourself now??? I think you owe me at least that."

"Oh nooooooo!" Liz groaned. She grabed ALexius' arm andswung it over her shoulder. She draped the other one around Chase and began running rather slowly. She and Chase were't exactly the most muscular people in the school. "Distractions, distractions..." she chaned in a panic. She glared at Chase. "DO SOMETHING!"

Lenny didn't even turn to look at Jordan

"Dude, thanks for trying to take the heat and all but I dont really want to talk right now. My trip to the principals office was not exactly fun, so just shut up."

As soon as Lenny had just finished speaking, the dinner bell rang. Lenny moned and got up and headed toward the door. Dinner was gonna be rough. so many kids were angry with him. Of course they wouldnt do anything since the school was on such high security, but still. Lenny started to walk down the hall. He watched the kids ppass by, every one of them giving lenny some kind of look. The kids who werent furious were either curious about Lenny's tripp to the Principal or they felt sorry for him because the punishment they knew he would receive. Lenny hated pitty.

Closing to the caffateria, Lenny noticed to a familiar face. It was a little hard to miss. Her face and hair were pale white and her eyes were blood red. HE had noticed her befor in school but remembered seeing her earlier at Lizes room. if he were in a good mood he would turn on the charm; but he wasnt. He was actually a little embarassed that she had seen him take a hit from Alexius.

He thought it over for a minute and decided to swallow his pride. He walked over to her. she was standing next to Skyla and the two were chatting. Lenny knew about all the pick up lines in the book, but all he could come up with to say was

"Hi."

Alexius weakly groaned, "Air ducts...they can't follow us there." As they moved down the hallway, cameras began to track them. The voices on the intercom were scattered and indistinct, someone had left the mic on.

Clover sat in her room for a while in thought. Jordan had really gotten her thinking
Did my mom know this place would be so horrid.
Is that why she was crying?
What did Jorand mean by climbing ropes.?
Am i ever going to get out of here?
Jordan promised but it wouldnt be the first time someone broke a promise.

Clover was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't hear the diner bell ring. One of her room mates gave her a nudge and snapped her out of her trance.

"dinner time, newbie."

"Oh, OK."

Clover began walking to the Caffateria. She noticed the tall girl she had encountered earlier. Clover shuddered and slid over to the other edge of the hallway. There she noticed the rude tall guy who also sat at her table. he had introduced himself as Lenny. He scared Clover so she decided to ignore him.

Finally, Clover reached the Caffateria and got as far from that girl as possible. She got on th e lunch line and waited. She looked around for Jordan, eager to fing out what he was planning. She didnt see him. She got her food and sat down at her table. She was the first one at the table, but knew that wouldnt last long. Finally she noticed Jordan walking in through the doors. She almost got up and ran to him, but decided against it.

She sat patiently and waited for Jordan to sit down.

"Aire duct...there's on over there." Liz nodded twards the rght and kicked open the metal grate. She gagged as the artificial wind blew out. SOmething dark was stained on the metallic bars. Probably the last kid wo tried to get out.

Lyn crawled quickly and quietly, clicking off the cameras wherever she could find them. She thought it was a little too simple that they could be disconnected through this area in the duct systems, but so be it. Now it was left, then straight, another left, first right. Click off camera 18. Click off camera 32. Click off camera 38. Click off camera 47.

"Who numbered these things?" she thought to herself, as more thoughts suddenly overtook her. She shook her head and wrote down a few more notes.

Then there was a loud noise. Lyn looked down the ductway and saw a shoe being pulled out of a hole that was once gaurded by a gate. "Garrett? Garrison? Who's that gate named after? He tried to escape but they caught him at that gate. Now he's dead and they got a new student." she wondered, then crawled over to the open hole.

"Better hurry," she said in a quiet and monotone voice, "They like to kill people here." Lyn held the gate open so Liz and Chase could get Alexuis inside. "It's dinnertime," she announced in the same quiet and monotone voice.

Liz blinked. "Where dd you come from?" She whispered as she unmercifully shoved Aexius through.

"How many times have you tried to escape?" Lyn scoffed, moving aside so the three could fit in. The duct was large enough for one person, but four was making it a bit cramped. "The walls know the way out. Do you?" she asked, looking behind her and back at the three of them again.

Jordan walked into the dinner hall, grabbed his food, and sat down next to Clover.

"So... you ready?? Just stay close to me, and eat quickly, k??"

"Um...hold on, let me scan." She shifted uncomfortably, hitting someone with her elbow. Her mini-computer vibrated as she recieved a message. Julie.
Where are you?
We're in a vent.
Whaaaa?!
Yeah. Awkard, isn't it?
WHat vent?
No idea. IM you later. Liz tapped the screen and did a quick scan of the "tunnel". "Ok, if we go on, there's a 'fork'. The left leads to the principal's office, the right leads to one of the classrooms."

"Professor Craig's classroom. Level 9 scientific studies mostly. There's a camera on the left of the duct gate. It can be disabled from inside the duct," Lyn spoke as though she were reading the information out of a text book, "The principal's office has high security around it, all levels of entry are 'monitored' by infared beams and the like. The cafeteria is closer to the classroom if that's the route you decide to take."

Lyn stopped crawling, pulled out her notebook, and jotted down a few more notes before continuing on. She'd been in these ducts hundreds of times, whether trying to escape or doing some form of research for the heads of the school. She remembered being advised that they change things often in this school to prevent people from planning escapes and such, and she couldn't remember much of her numerous escape attempts from before they scrambled her brains, but bits and pieces kept popping up here and there. Unfortunately, Lyn didn't really know what to do with those pieces most of the time.

She crawled until she got to the fork in the duct, waiting to see where the others were going to go.

"Ok, that's nice. You two, can you move? It's hard enough crawling by myself." Liz pushed Alexius in front and nudged Chase back a bit so she was in between. "Ok, I'm guessing the classroom is safest. We shoudl go left then..."

Lyn ducked off to the right at the fork. She didn't want to go first anymore, or at all for that matter.

She absently watched Liz push her way through and take a left toward the classroom. Lyn was a little surprised at how much more noise was created by three more people in the duct. She pulled out her notebook and wrote a few more things down.

Alexius groaned, "You must be joking..." Slowly raising her arms, she began to slowly lift herself up and 'crawl' as it were, though the act looked more like she was mopping every inch of the vent with her stomache. Every muscle in her body still screamed out in pain.

Sighing she continued on, though at the moment all she wanted to do was sleep. "I suppose you'll want payback in some way. What do you plan to do with me now that I'm a fugitive, stuck in this place? I cannot protect you at lunch if that's what you're looking for..." Chuckling at her own jest and getting an image of her head as she fought off guards saying 'No you can't have Liz! She saved me!' when they carted her away, she continued on, Chase in front, Liz in back.

Chase squished through the vents along with the others. He was perfectly comfortable up there, he was small and fit fine!!b Still, it creeped him out a bit to be crawling up there.

"So... what exactly is the plan from here??"

"I'll eat as fast as I can!"

Jordan nodded, uttered a quick prayer, and began scarfing down his meal. He finished within minutes and then turned to Clover.

"I'm gonna go grab some stuff and then I'll be right back for you, okay kid??"
