Jordan's eyes opened wide.

"Me?!?! WHAT??? But I..."

he looked over at Chase and Lenny. Neither of them could survive a fight with either girl.

"Yeah... fine. Ya caught me. But can you catvch me again??"

With that, Jordan shot out of the room, straight through a large group of guards. Catching them unprepared, he knocked right through them. Then, he headed towards the gym.

Alexius quickly took on the chase, steping over the ones who had fallen and jabbing her elbow into a guard's face. If she wasn't going into the hot box for what had happened so far, that certainly bought her a two week ticket. Leaping through the sea of people she continued the chase after Jordan.

Several guards now broke off to pursue them, in nearly as good as shape as they were, but quite a bit slower. Gaining on Jordan as they neared the gym, shouted out to him, "You're dead!"

Several of the students not invovled in the fiasquo before and were actually going to classes popped their heads out of doorways as the pair ran down the hallways, a few of the teachers screaming for them to stop.

Jordan slammed through the doors of the gym, running over to the ropes. Using his gynormous muscles, he began to climb, aiming for the air ducts that opened up in the cieling.

Getting a slight wiplash from the swinging doors Alexius mindlessly slammed into, she bursted into the gym to find Jordan already climbing quickly up the practice ropes towards the ceiling. This was considered madness until she noted the airducks above.

Cursing softly, she looked around her. There was no way she was going to catch up with him now that she had hesitated thinking. Her eyes however caught a rubber-bullet siper gun used for practice perposes and she took aim. Narrowing the field she fired one straight into the back of his supporting hand and one to the small of his back. If he didn't fall from that she was prepared to take more drastic measures by firing one into one of his eyes.

Jordan and Alexius had just run out of the roomand downt he hall. Lenny couldn't believe what had just happened. When Jordan had said it was somone from the room, it sure sounded like he was blaming Lenny. Lenny couln't remember the last time someone did something that nice for him. it sure wasn't when he was in this school.Lenny got up from where Alexius had dropped him. He was hurting everywhere. He wasstill steamed at Alexius but now he was conserned about Jordan. He was ready to run after them when two guards grabbed his arms and said,"You're coming with us."

"i do not have the time for this" thought Lenny. he jumped into the air and used his strong legs to kick the guards across to the other side of the room. Then he started to run after the angry couple. Lenny started to think for a second,
i cant believe i just attacked guards. Oh i gonna pay for this. i cant remember the last time someone attacked a guard. iand i sure can't remeber the last person who did, cause i never saw them again.

Lenny reached the gym where he found Jordan climbing up the practice ropes and Alexius aiming the practice guns, She shot two at jordan but ther was no way rubber bullets would make Jordan fall. Lenny had to say something so he spat out

"JORDAN DIDN'T DO IT EITHER!!!"

then he realized what he had just done. He couldn't be blamed for it.
I'll have to pin it on some one else but who???
Someone that everyone already hates.
So he shouted out,

"The principal sent it out to see how we would react to it!! i over heard the plan when i was snooping in the office to change my test scores!!! So stop fighting!! that's exactly what they want!!!!"

Lenny hopped she would buy it. That was about the best thing his little brain could come up with and hopefully it worked.

Clover got to her classroom and found her assigned seat. She wondered why the class was half empty. There was no teacher in the front and all the students were chattering. Clover sat silently by herself and twiddeled her thumbs. Suddenly a voice eccoed through the speakers.

"Classes are cancled for the rest of the night and all students are to report to the lawn in front of the bot's dorm. Also all gym teachers are to report to the girls dorm Fifth floor. All wondering students will be punished."

Clover was now as frustrated as she was confused. She sighed, disappointed that she was unable to take her class and followed the crowd to the boys dorm.

Alexius sighed, she hadn't caused Jordan to fall, but he may not be able to climb much higher. Taking ahold of a handheld rubber-bullet gun, she pointed it at Lenny, "You seem very conviently placed to have seen that....seeing as I know for a fact that when you came to the aid of Chase, you were coming from your dorm's direction...."

Processing all that she had just said, revisualizing all the events that had happened. And then She realized where all the pieces were meant to fit, "...Lenny Lenny Lenny. Shame on you, letting Jordan nearly die for you." Firing several times, she hit his chest, his shoulder, and as he fell, the center of his forehead. Blowing the end of the gun, though no smoke was there to disperse, she smiled as guards came running into the room.

"Here's your culprit boys. The prankster..." Five of the guards took hold of Lenny and began to lead him away. Ten more of then circled Alexius and slowly approached her. Nervious and twitchy, she dropped her guns, still smiling at her job well done, and held up her hands which were quickly hand-cuffed behind her.

Liz meanshile, had shoved Chase out the window and climbed after him, nudging him up the roof. They finally got to the top, and she lay on her back, one foot pressing agaisnt Chase's chest to pin him against one of the towers. "I don't buy it," she said, tired. She always was at this time. "Jordan's not stupid enough to send it. I'm guessing Lenny...?"

"GET OUT OF MY ROOM!!!!!" Julia screamed. Her dark hair seemed to be rising like flames as she glowered at the crowd. She grabbed a textbook and threw it, watching it make contact with an unfortunate bystander. "GET OUT, GET OUT! I HAVE A NEED FOR PRIVACY, YOU KNOW!!" As most of the crowd left quickly, Julie breathed out in relief, ignoring the whisper of "Must be that time of month".

Lyn pressed herself against the wall as the two ran past her and past the guards. It wasn't long after that another boy, Lenny maybe, ran after the two of them. Lyn turned and saw that there were at least three or four guards on the floor, and the rest were soming in with handcuffs and detention cuffs for anyone who was still hanging around.

Lyn slid along the wall slowly, hoping to sneak away. Any sort of detention or punishment was not what she was in the mood for. She just finally got let off for her most recent offense the other day.

"Classes are cancled for the rest of the night and all students are to report to the lawn in front of the boys' dorm. Also all gym teachers are to report to the girls' dorm Fifth floor. All wandering students will be punished," came a stern female voice over the loudspeaker.

Lyn looked up toward the voice as she reached the corner. "Boys' dorm it is, herded like cattle," she thought as she slipped around the corner of the hall and quickly made her way toward the boys' dormatory, "The gym teachers will rip everyone from limb to limb, then they'll sew back the body parts together to make them more perfect. Poor Chase, just trying to do good. Now everyone dies because he tried to do something good. They don't like good here. They want perfect, but only their perfect. Maybe the dead people out in the real world aren't perfect. That's why they all died and we're in here. But we're all dead, too." Lyn reached the doors with everyone else and walked out into the front courtyard. No trees and only concrete on the ground. The walls were high, but with it still being late afternoon the sun was still reaching into the confines of the school. Lyn pushed and dodged quietly through the people until she go to the back of the courtyard.

If she leaned against the wall, the sunlight grazed across the top of her head. Lyn could feel it almost immediately and closed her eyes to soak it in. "Maybe death won't be so bad. The real death anyway. Living dead is much worse because they won't let you really die until they want you to." She also found a thought of hoping that the students running after each other in the hallways would be okay, but she couldn't hold onto it for very long.

As the guards slammed Alexius into the holding cage, otherwise known to the students as the Hot Box, she began to realize precisely how much she hated being pushed around.

Holding her chin, which was slightly bruised, she rubbed it as the voice of the head of closed research came onto the intercom, "Hello Miss Corvin."

Nodding, she knew what was coming next and was expected of her to say. She could resist electric theropy....for a while. But she would need her strength, "Hello Dr. Allen."
"How are you feeling today?"
"Fine."

A pause, what was next? This was where it was always went either good or bad.
"Fine is obviously not the word I would use. You relapsed again Miss Corvin."
"I am ... aware. I have been meditating as ordered."
"I was not the one who ordered you to do that. That would be the ... late Dr. Willow."

Looking up, a tear welled up momentarily in her eye. Dr. Willow had really been the one person she thought she could trust. She alone had stood up for the continuation of well...Alexius' life. That her anger and unstable abilities could be tempered. "I ... I see."
"Does this upset you?" The voice was not concerned, it was a control question.
"I am concerned for the future of this government that such a scientist will no longer be serving." Alexius quickly and nutrally replied.

Another pause, they knew she was lying.

Lenny was taken to the principal's office, who insisted on personally dealing with HIM.

Lenny fell to the ground and guards surrounded him. They pulled himto his feet and pulled him through the hall. Lenny was to weak to fight back."Where r u taking me?!"
he shouted.

One of the guards answered
"The principal would like to see u, now"

Lenny could have laughed. the guard sounded just like his old teacher in his old school when Lenny had got into trouble.
They walked downthe hall and reached a large metal door. One of the guards placed his hand on a scanner, then typed in a code, then turned the handle as if opening a safe. The door opened and they all walked down a small hallway to a small door. Another guard opened the door using three card keys. The doors opened and one of the guards shoved Lenny in. The door locked behind him.

Lenny looked around the room. At the far end of the room ther was a crecent shaped table with a shaowy figure sitting behind it. Th room was dim so llenny couldn't make out any details. An echoing voice bellowed

"have a seat"

and motioned to a smal chair in the center of the room.
Lenny sat down in the chair and continued to look around.The voice calmly stated

"i've heard u caused a lot of trouble today. What do u have to say for yourself?"

Lenny didnt know what to say. He didn't want to tell him that he sent it to everyone by accident. that would make Lenny seem uninteligent and Lenny knew that they wanted every one to be perfect. So he answered

"So what if i did. Liz deserved to be punished, she's the one who pulled the prank not me!!"

The principal ingnored the coment and changed th subject.

" i see youve bee failing all yuor accademic classes. u need to try harder. if your grades dont improve we will not allow u to continue to be enrolled in our school."

Lenny started to shake with fear. He knew no one left the school alive. unless they graduated and no one knows what happens then. but lenny did not want to die.

Jordan felt the pellets hit his body. His right arm went numb, and is back seared with pain. But he held strong and turned to see guards and Lenny coming up behind Alexius. He tried to shout down, but couldn't. He watched as they were dragged away. Once it was clear, he jumped down and followed the directions given over the speaker. He headed for the front lawn.

Lyn opened her eyes to see what must have been a few stragglers being pushed out of the building an into the courtyard by some guards. They stood at all the close entrances, hands by their sides and within close reach of their weapons.

Then something caught Lyn's eye. It was a crane moving a large beam in the air. There must've been construction going on across the street from the school. Lyn tried as hard as she could to hold on to the thought that was forming in her mind, "They've never allowed contruction around the school. Too many secrets inside. Whisper. Whisper softly and lull them to death. But now there's construction, and this is something new," Lyn looked up along the wall of the boys' dormatory, scanning the windows and trying to remember who lived where, "The windows can be broken, but Kyle said there were sensors in everything. We eat them with our eyes. Kyle helps build the sensors because he doesn't really want to die." The thought was barely holding up, but Lyn kept fighting. She wanted to go inside and talk to her friend in the White Wing, but that would be impossible. It was probably completely locked down, and would most likely stay that way into tomorrow. "Why are the dead people in the real world building things?" she wondered to herself, "Unless they're building coffins and graveyards. What else do dead people need? But the dormatory windows are breakable, and there's construction on the other side of the wall. Are they building hope? Maybe the gnomes aren't the only ones with a fire exit."

Suddenly a professor with a bullhorn stood on stepstool and began giving instructions to the student body that was standing outside. Lyn squinted her eyes shut in order to hold on to her current thought for as long as possible.

The room was silent. The principal broke the silence.

"You will be seeing a concelor three times a week to help u find more productive things to do with your time. Also u will b spending your evening freetime in detention, cleaning the gymnasium. i donot want to hear any back talk and u will not be late or miss any of your appointments. I will see you in 6 weeks to talk on your grade improvements. You are dismissed for now, Lester. good-bye."

Lenny remained silent. He stood up and walked to the door. The door was opened by one of the guards on the other side. They escorted Lenny to the the boys dorm with the rest of the students. They left lenny and went to the front of the crowd.Lenny limped over to e tall tree and sat against it. He was still shaking from his from chat with the principal. He closed his eyes and began to think.
how am i going to get my grades up. I cant believe this is hapening.Stipid councling. stipid detention. stupid principal. stupid school.
Then he realized something
How did he know my real name is Lester. I wrote Lenny on my aaplication form. No one has called me Lester since i was four.
Lenny continued to think on and on when his sunlight was blocked as someone approached him.

Out on the lawn, Jordan found a flat patch of dirt and sat. There was no plant life there, except those studied in botany.

He sighed and looked around, wondering if there was anyone there he could talk to...

Chase cried out in shock and pain as the girl shoved him out the window. At first, he thought she was trying to throw him down.... but no. She was helping him. She got him upstairs, where a girl cried out in horror at their appearance. Once they were out, he looked up at her.

"Please, will you let me go now??"

Alexius shook vilently from the electroshock, they weren't hearing what they wanted and she could not understand what she was saying that was wrong.

"Miss Corvin, I suggest you answer the question."
"I am!"
ZAP!
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"
"Tell us what THIS conversation portained to and we will stop!"

The doctor played a recording of her voice speaking to a man, but she didn't recognize it. Sometimes they created symulated situations to trick some sort of personality flaw in the students to better evaluate them. However, sometimes, they honestly were torchuring them.

"It's NOT me!"
"We checked the voice recognition program Miss Corvin. I suggest you adjust your version of the story and tell us what these codes in the message mean."
"I don't know!"
"You obviously do."
ZAP.
"You were planning on escaping the school were you not? Taking up a band of your little friends and escaping to the real world. You haven't the first clue of what is out there."

Alexius was breathing heavily against one side of the wall. She knew what was out there. Sunshine, grass, trees....people. "I live only for those whom I serve."
"And whom do you serve?" The doctor asked dryly.
"The Government of this great nation!" The words almost flowed out like a fact she honestly believed in, which she did not.
"And yet Miss Corvin you have been discovered with communicational technology which can reach outside these walls. You also were discovered today with a comm chip in your ear, care to explain?"
"Walky-talky. Friend of mine and I wanted to practice stealth and team efforts against another team of --"
ZAP!
"Stop lying Miss Corvin."

Screaming out for a brief moment, she began to cry and curled up in the corner. I know I have no right to ask, but God, if you're listening, please find a way to save me from this place.... Please....

Lyn shook her head as the professor with the bullhorn instructed the students on how the rest of the evening would go. Something about punished students reporting to detention at such-and-such time and the lockdown that would occur directly after the evening meal. She wished the man would stop talking and tried to weave her way through the students in order to shield herself from his voice.

Then she stopped suddenly next to a tree and tilted her head at the boy sitting against what she would never really consider a tree. "You are still alive," she stated simply and a little quietly, as if she was pondering a question.

Liz glanced at Chase, looking over her options. He's pretty weak...Not much of a threat. "Here's the deal, Chase. I'll let you off. BUT, if any of the teachers go after me about this, I can't guarantee I'll let you live. Clear?"
