  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've thought about covering my homemade ones up with something else, but hubby discourages it, plus I don't know if I'm at peace with it. I'd really like to get away from the sterotype of being a "bad girl" due to my tatoos, for that reason I don't paradge them...

Do you know what a male christian co-worker said to me once??? You see, people who know me but don't know about my adventurous past all think I'm a good girl...

So anyways, this peer sees my tatoo on my hand one night and for the first time realizes I have one, and he said "Where have all the good girls gone??"

Geeze??? A little sensitivity please? He flat out told me to my face that I wasn't a good girl/chaste because he saw my tatooo and from then on saw me in a different light..

But do you know what though? One day when I was praying about it and the desire to get them removed or covered over someday, and why I didn't have peace about it, I believe the lord said to me that it is part of my identity, might minister to someone, the confidence I have now regardless of the tatoos of my past..... and I just need to feel good about myself regardless...

But this conversation causes me to think about it again.

I have two... both are black ink.

I got my first one in September of 2001. It's a tribal cross on the outside of my lower right leg.

The second I got a few years ago. It's an armband I designed. I have two ichthus symbols facing in on the outsides (they curve underneath my arm toward my outer arm), then my wife's name on one side and my son's name on the other side and then a cross on the outside in between their names. I was kinda' nervous about getting their names tattooed at first, but I'm almost 20 years with this woman (15 married) and I KNOW there's no one else out there for me. My son got to watch this time, so now-and-then I remind him that he's a "pain in my arm."^_^

I've tried to talk my wife into getting one - and we've gotten close a few times - but she finally said that she really doesn't care to get one, but she would to please me. That's not the right reason to get a tattoo, so I've abandoned it until she's ready.

My son, who is 12, is really wanting one. So, I'm planning to take him to get one when he turns 16. Nothing big or too visible... but something he can be proud of.

I love my tattoos.

I do, I do!

On my right shoulderblade, I have "Rainbow Bridge" with pawprints and names under it of two dogs who have passed away, to remind me of the special place they held for me. I'm going to add to it as other pets pass. It's a special reminder for me because I learned from each of them - and as you can tell by my sig, I feel that each animal I come across can teach me a valuable spiritual lesson.

On my left wrist I have a moon, the right I have a sun. To remind me of keeping balance in my life, and also that even if some parts of my life can be dark, there will always be sunlight to come.

On my left ankle, I have a peace sign to remind me that I've chosen a peaceful path, that because of my faith I'm committed to being peaceful and loving . . . and remind me that "Blessed are the peacemakers." I hope to get that written around the peace sign when I get a chance.

In the future, I want to get a sparrow somewhere, for the verse reminding us that God knows every sparrow that falls to the ground . . . a phoenix to symbolize resurrection - both Christ's and my own rising from the "ashes" of my life before coming back to my faith, and from my parents' deaths and a very dark place for me. I also would like to get either a Garden of Eden scene or a globe being held in a pair of hands - or both! And Jordan and I plan on both getting compasses and a fish - his dark blue and facing down, mine light blue and facing up, so that when we hug they come together as two halves of a whole.

My compass, I want to have a cross in the center as my spiritual centering/guide, then in each direction I want to place a little outline of a different animal that has taught me something, and above it I want the verse that's my signature.

Yeah, that's a lot of ink. I want to keep most of them with a spiritual center so that if I'm asked about them it could open up an avenue of discussion about my faith, rather than just having random artwork all over my body.

Its reminds me of the awesome God I serve.
No I don't regret it.
Hubby has my middle name on his neck and more on his arms.
We both are planning more to get together, probably something that reminds us of our kids.....not sure what yet though.

I have one, the symbol for "Queen" on my lower back. My ex and I got tattoos together and he got "King" but I'm glad I got one that I would still like if we weren't together.

My sister asked me yesterday if I would get matching ones with her. She wants to get "my sister, my friend" and I said I'd consider it. I really want to get my daughter's name and some sort of design but I haven't figured it out yet. My husband has his ex's name on his forearm.

Who has them? I have them(so does my mom-more on that later)
What are they of? Teddy bear-outside of left calf(near ankle), My 2 kids names in a banner- inside left calf so they are seen when I cross my legs), flowers-right hip at bathingsuit line, rose and humming bird-above left breast.
How many?4
Do you love it or hate it? depends on my mood, sometimes I sort of regret it, but it is part of who I am
Does anyone have tats that represent their marriage in any way...or ones where your spouse has the same one as you? No my husband doesn't have any yet. He wants to have the kids names put on his arm. I never really thought of something to represent our marriage. But I do know that I would never get his name put on me. As much as I love him, you just never know what the future holds.

My mom always threatened to disown us if we ever got tattoos, well she went out to buy catfood one day(pet store was next door to a tattoo parlor) and came home with a bird tattooed on her ankle! She was 52 years old at the time!! The next day she paid for my sister and I to get ours!!

Oops, I forgot to answer the regret one.

I don't regret the ideas. I do regret who I went to for the peace sign. It ended up fading really badly and it's on a very painful part of my ankle that I'm dreading getting redone. I also wanted it a lot smaller, but it's this big fat one which I didn't really want, I wanted a slim one but he insisted that he couldn't make it any smaller (which I now know is TOTALLY untrue). Unfortunately, nothing I can do about it now but get it touched up and see if they can add to it to make it better.

Sometimes if I read enough people ranting about tattoos, I start questioning the descision, religiously - if you hear it enough you start to do that. But for the most part I'm settled with my descision to be a tattooed chick. ;)

Who has them? I do
What are they of? A frog, a gecko, flowers, and a little boy
How many? 4
Do you love it or hate it? LOVE all of them

I have one tattoo of a butterfly. I loved it at first, then a few years later wasn't so sure and now I love it again. For me it represents freedom and new life. Freedom from the "butterflies in tummy" feeling I used to get from social anxiety and a new life with Christ.

My husband doesn't have any tattoos, it's not really his thing.

I have a kinda large tatoo on my right outer thigh. It's a red rose with a backward "K" for my daughter's name and a backward "D" for my son's name and a drop of blood coming out of the stem for the child I lost and a big thorn representing my difficult life. It has lots of meaning, but I HATE it!!! The person who did it screwed it up badly and the color came out and he scarred me and went way too deep. I should get it covered up or retouched, but it's pretty big.

My fiance has a buck on his shoulder because he's a BIG bow hunter. His looks so much better than mine.

Ohh! I think maybe I want a peace sign. Or a dove, something with peace.
