  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ive used them for 5 years. ive only ever used pads.... once lol, too uncomfortable, they dont make them small enough for little people. feels like ur wearing a nappy.

ne hoo tampons are totally fine, like others have said dont keep them in longer thn 8 hours etc etc. The ones with applicators i find alot easier to insert, with out i cant put them in far enough n then tht feels v v v v v v unconfortable

I have used them for about 3 years. My mother always encouraged me and all my sisters not to use them. She did have TSS b/c she forgot about one when she was younger. Anyhow, I changed my mind when a guy I was dating was debating with another guy whether I used them or not. It ticked me off. So I talked to my roommate about them and she loaned me some of hers. I've been using them ever since. I actually prefer them. I always felt like I was wearing a diaper before.

When I was home on a vacation my older sister somehow discovered that I was using them and decided that my mother needed to know so she could "talk some sense into me." You'd think I'd been getting drunk by the way she acted. She treated me like I was some dirty heathen for a while. Actually, she had to inform the whole family about my use of tampons. For me it was both humorous and humiliating. Who wants to discuss feminine hygeine products with their whole family? My mother for her part, told my sister that I was indeed an adult and that I could do as I pleased and that there was nothing wrong with tampons, just that she had chosen not to use them.

The only problem I have had with tampons is that once I had one without the string to pull it out.

I've used them for about 12 years now, without a problem. I find them so much more comfortable than pads. From talking with girlfriends, I've learned that for many (not all, obviously) who find tampons uncomforatable, it is because they are not inserting them correctly, or are using a larger size than needed.

Also, one other reason I use tampons
---grossness alert----- written in white, highlight to read---

I use my menstrual blood for gardening. Whith tampons I can just soak them in a gallon of water to get the blood back out, but with pads, most have silcon gel or else the cotton fluffs apart or something. Sorry TMI!

O.O Yipes! I have never heard of that. What praytell does that help with?

I would totally freak out if that happend to me.

The string should be attached at all times! I wonder what happened to that tampon you were using. Totally sucks!

I quite dislike the feel of tampons. They're uncomfortable as soon as they're in. I've never worn one for more than 10 minutes. I bleed heavily, though, so I need two pads to 'catch' it all. I don't mind the feeling.

If they feel uncomfortable, mabe you are inserting them incorrectly?

I almost did freak out. It was when I was new to using them too. I always check now. It just didn't have one. Weirdest thing ever.

If you find that tampons are uncomfortable it could be you have a retroverted uterus, I do. This means the uterus is at an angle and the tampon would not be fully inserted. It might be best to have this checked out when you next have an internal examination as it can, in some cases, make getting pregnant difficult, not in my case though!

I'm glad you were able to do somthing about it, and that you check everytime now. I bet it was scary, for you were new to tampons at that time.I think you got me checking as well, lols. I sure dont want a tampon without a string.

What in the world would that help with gardening???

It is an excellent fertilizer. High in nitrogen, etc. Blood and bone meal is sold in gardening shops for that reason. However, often times there are heavy minerals that get into it during processing, and I do organic gardening so I don't like to buy those. Plus, this is free and the estrogen can also be good for certain plants.

If you do a search for menstrual blood and fertilizer there is a lot of discussion on the internet. Debate over whether or not to compost or bake it first, only apply it to plants not intended for eating etc.

Gross but cool! It seems like you've done your research. :)

One question, doesnt the garden start to smell?

What do you find the most comfortable tampons to be? I barely ever use them, my mom had a bad experience as a kid with one and since she's told me I've been a little creeped out.

The most comfortable tampons in my opinion have to be, Tampax! They're the best!
