That might work...except not all the games I play fit into SciFi & Fantasy! I'm fine with staying here. I mean, gaming is gaming, right? And, who knows? Somebody might wander into one of our threads and be interested in prying himself/herself from the console games long enough to try a real thinking game!
Our kids are getting old enough to get into role playing, and they love Star Wars, so we've begun a Star Wars RPG adventure!
I'm hoping to get my son into Starfleet Battles this year!! (This school year, that is!)
We also play board wargames, like Risk. I just got my son to play Axis & Allies and he loved it! We've also got some old, old Milton Bradley board wargames...Carrier Strike and Chopper Strike. I used to play them a lot when I was a kid in the '70s and I found copies on e-Bay. I've also introduced him to some real basic miniature wargaming concepts from Avalon Hill's Bismark.

It's a very light WWII boardgame that I think kids would take to. There are lots of expansions but the game is great out of the box.
