Oh .. so I guess we can cut all the nonsense about moral value , family value, Christian value, character, conservative ideas, it’s all about who is most popular.
That seems like a strange conclusion, my friend. Of course popularity is what gets people elected! No one gets elected if no one wants him in office. The fact is that not everyone appraises Trump's record as you do.
Let's be frank about this. To succeed in a run for the presidency, you have to have a lot of things going for you. Many people in the past didn't make the grade although they probably would have been wonderful as Presidents.Of course Walker did badly in 2016 primary, after all as you said “perfectly likeable and respected figure” and I might add “solid conservative record” doesn’t mean any thing, he wasn’t Trump.
One of the attributes that seems to be needed is charisma. Scott Walker, despite all his other qualities, was perceived to be indecisive or unprepared and rather colorless. Anything's possible in politics, but since you asked, I'd call him a longshot. I don't, in fact, expect him to enter the race.
