I'm willing to stand corrected because I'm not in any way an authority on ancient history but even a casual reading of the Bible suggests to me that Abraham was a Sumerian until God called him out to be the beginning of a "different people". In fact it seems to me that it would be quite logical to refer to all people from Adam to Nimrod (at the least) as Sumerians. I highly doubt the different mythologies of creation, flood etc were drawn one from the other. It seems to me they were well known to everyone, irrespective of what "nationality" we call them by today, as they came from the "beginning". I mean, how can you have the writing of the "Hebrews" until you have the "Hebrews"? (they couldn't begin until Abraham) The only reason some mythologies seem later than another is because the division of people came at different times, some later than others. Today we stand divided, by this I mean in terms of geography, culture, nationality etc, but I have to think it didn't begin that way as most (if not all) the mythologies seem to point to this. What do others think?

Hi Sawdust!

I believe you'll find this thread interesting. It would seem that you and I do think and or believe alike

http://www.christianforums.com/t85124

You have brought up some rather insightful observations that I think would greatly contribute to our discussion!
