I have been very depressed for several weeks after a break up with my girlfriend. We both still love each other but I turned to alcohol and made bad decisions or we might possibly be back together. This is a woman I wanted to marry and spend the rest of my life with. I was contemplating ending my life last week when I got a message from a old friend out of the blue said he was praying for me...he had no idea of what was going on in my life, but it was just enough for me to reconsider. Today I went to church for the first time in years, I've rededicated my life to the Lord and hope my prayers of healing my broken heart and reconciliation with Angie will be answered. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Father God, I lift Tom up to You. I thank You that You drew him close to You once again, I pray he will look only to You for all his needs. I ask that You give him strength, comfort and peace as he seeks You. Please give him a deep hunger for Your Word and Your people. I pray that all with his girlfriend go according to Your perfect will for his life. Thank You Father that You never stop pursuing us, in Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. Everyday is still a struggle with temptations, I have given in a day or so with drinking but I'm really trying to cope. I don't want to live my life so depressed and heartbroken. It's so hard to trust in the Lord when I feel I'm being punished for my actions. Pray that I will have patients to see my prayers answered. I truly want to turn my life around, have a marriage, and be happy while walking in the path of JESUS. GOD Bless You all.
