Do you guys, even when you're feeling fine, feel like killing yourself? I always feel like killing myself, when everything is fine. This disease is terrible.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been there. Life and this disease can be very painful. But I know suicide is not the answer. I trust in God, and the more I abide in Him by keeping His commandments to love Him and others, the more I feel His comforting presence, Him abiding in me. It gives me strength to go on; it makes it all worthwhile.

One day, I asked God to "Save me from suicide. No matter what it comes down to, save me from suicide." So, I have an assurance that it is not the way I will go. It is not God's will. So, whenever I get those thoughts, I pray it again. Every now and then the thoughts creep in, especially after my medicine has been lowered, but then it evens out.
The more I read, watch, and listen to the Word, the less I feel like suicide. The more I listen to trash and the world, then it returns, so I only let the Word into my Ear-gate and Eye-gate. If you don't have a choice, then pray to God to protect you from the evil communication that you are hearing and seeing. He'll protect you if you ask. So much of those suicidal thoughts come from what goes into your mind. Keep your heart with diligence. The Word makes those thoughts vanish like smoke.
