Submitting to Husband, D/S?

Recently, my SO and I were reading the bible about submitting, the roles of the wife and the husband, and we noticed this was alot like a dom/sub relationship. Please note: d/s has nothing to do with sadism. Wondering if you noticed that too, if you have any thoughts or opinions. Do you practice d/s? (no need to reply to that last question but feel free if you want to)

I don't know all the details of dominance and submission relationships. I thought it was the same thing as the sadism thing, but I guess people can dress up and play without beating or cutting each other. If a married couple wants to use fuzzy pink hand cuffs, that's their business as long as they don't do it out in couple. But I don't think this sort of thing is really that helpful as far as understanding Biblical roles in marriage is concerned. That's a controversial enough topic in here without adding the kinky stuff to the discussion.

Well the question was is it the same, if you had read my post a D/s relationship can be done without any kink at all. The question was is it about the same as a wife submitting to her husband and yes I feel it is. Sex between husband and wife is not kink sorry but I am a conservative Christian yet it bugs me that a whole book of the Bible was dedicated to sex between a husband and wife and still Christians act like it is horrible to even talk about sex within marriage.

It sounds like a term used by those who eroticize the idea. There is a thread where people can discuss headship and submission here. The powers that be decided to outlaw discussion of submission on the forum when people disagreed over it so much some time back and there were a lot of rule violations during the discussion. A moderator opened one trial thread to discuss it a while back.

I understand what you are saying. This is a 13+ forum and if I recall correctly, they keep detailed sexual discussions to the married men's only and married women's only forums.

Well, I hate to contribute to zombie threads, but for the sake of clarity it is my understanding that D/S is not necessarily the same thing as BDSM. They are often entwined - but not by necessity. In a lot of respects - the philosophical issues of D/S can be applied to the kinds of "Submission" discussions that we find prevalent here on this board.

D/S isn't my cup of tea - as I prefer a more egalitarian approach - but I'm just pedantic in making sure things are properly explained/understood.

lol cool beans! It's weird - my understanding is that WELS is now the third largest (vastly outnumbered by the ELCA) - but most I come across are WELS. Maybe just the luck of the draw?
