  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God has a way of "helping" us does He? And it endearing 'cus He love us so and wants our full attention! For me, it is really easy for me to get caught up in my "commitment" online to threads and others ~ not actual commitments, but ones that I put on myself. Often without ever consulting God. Our pastor once said, "It's not about commitment, but surrender". Which is what I *keep* having to come back to: What does Jesus want me to do??? And He's patient and merciful with me as I grow in this area ~ and "helps" me and guides me. Like He did you with the tendonitis! : )

Yes, I agree, online friendships do take time and can have problems, because that is the very nature of being online and without voice & person to see. I find that sometimes my insecurities manifest themselves in online relationships as I make assumptions (which we have to, as such, to fill in the blanks) and I often have to pray to assume to best and give the benefit of the doubt.

But I would like to note, that I have some very dear, dear friends that I have made online...but I also talk with them on the phone, which helps tremendously in "hearing" what they say online.

:amen: and :amen: angelwind!

I agree completely! For me, my girls leaving home made a huge difference in "physical fellowship" for me and being online has been a place of tremendous blessing and growth in my relationship with our Lord Jesus (as well as wonderful fellowship and encouragemnt with others). And I've seen God's hand work in remarkable ways online ~ so much so, that if I was not a believer, I would be now, lol. Yes, we, the Body, need one another!!

You had posted this on another thread and I thought "that must be what she's talking about"?

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh,

but divinely powerful (mighty before God) for the destruction of fortresses.

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God,

and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

2 Cor 10:3-5

And, really that's why we need prayer so badly too in our walk with him b/c we're no match for satan and his devils. Taking every thought to God really tightens the reins but it must be nec.

btw-Less posting is so relaxing, it can be almost a frenzy. Thank you Lord.

That verse did pop into my head yesterday...I am applying it in many different ways...

A light went on when I was thinking of Mary and Martha...here "JESUS" was "in" the house...and Martha was missing Him in the deepest way. Wow!!!...Christ is in us!!!!!!!!!! The Light of the world, My Saviour...am I missing Him with all the distractions that come against my mind???? Sometimes yes, but WOW!!!!! again...He is getting brighter and brighter in my spirit...really becoming my first love, but I do believe God Himself is establishing this for me...not me trying everykind of program and system...He is just doing it by His Spirit.

To kind of summerize this section, we have the 4 food groups that the disciples are to partake in continuously

1) agape love (a true love of God's character and that in others) (breaking of bread in fellowship))

2) service in giving the most nutriciuos recipe in your repitior as you serve others in your work He gives you to do and allowing Jesus to serve you your portion and not take more than He allows. (His teachings and yours)

3) prayer in talking to Him and listening to His Word, giving of your time to Him

4) And I think finally that to keep the unity of His presence with us all day and night, singing pure gospel is the #1 way to keep His Words with us and brings meaningful fellowship with Him even as we sleep.

Acts 2:42

The Fellowship of the Believers

42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

:D   Isn't it amazing how He just *does* a work in our hearts?!!! This is one of my most favorite verses:

"But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption" 1 Corinthians 1:30
See ya!!! May you all find comfort and joy in the Presence of our Lord Jesus this day and everyday!

No prob. no need to explain. Just please do the ones you miss at home (or not) and continue with the one for the day you post on, so it isn't all confusing to anyone. It's so much easier when people don't have to dig thru to find the message. That is one thing that I find helps a study thread is to stick with the message today on our posts and if more people are here we won't get cluttered in chat. God bless

Oh, terribly sorry about the

quote from ~Words of Luke~Francis Hogan~

A solemn warning is issued to the opponents of Jesus (especially in His position as the Christ) that if they are so blind to call Good "evil", and attribute to Beelzebub the work of the Holy Spirit,

"Luke 12:10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven."

then they are against Jesus , and opposing God's plans for them personally, and for the salvation of the world. He would not allow them to remain "sitting on the fence."They must decide for or against Him, and take the consequence of their decision. There can be no nuetrality in the spiritual in the spiritual warfare between Jesus and Satan. He also issued a warning to those who are healed. It's not enough to have evil removed from your life and just remain empty. A basic principal of life is that nature abhors a vacuume. The refusal to change leaves an opening for an even greater infesation of evil

"Luke 11:24-26 "When an evil[a] spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' 25When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."

Jesus' healings and exorcisms are not magic, but require the active cooperation of repentance and change of lifestyle.

Jesus addresses a nation now, calling it a wicked generation

"Luke 11:29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah."

The disciples knew that if they hear and obey the Word of God, they will produce signs by the power of the Spirit working thru them

"Luke 10:17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

In Luke's usual manner he balances a story of a man (Jonah) with a woman (Queen of Sheba) Both characters had made a long journey, one to preach and the other to hear, and both recieved what God wanted to give them. God sees to it that we're not shortchanged b/c of the weakness or sinfulness of the messenger.

"Luke 1:23-25 When his time of service was completed, he returned home. 24After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. 25"The Lord has done this for me," she said. "In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people."

God in His justice will take into account the oppurtunities each person and nation had for hearing the Word of God. For those to whom much was give, much was expected. The generation that refused to take God's Word from the greatest witness of them all, the Son Himself, could expect the severest Judgement.

The light of Jesus Himself is clear for all to see. Neither He nor His message is hidden.

"The Lamp of the Body
33"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light."

If we still remain in interior darkness, prisoners of Satan's Kingdom, we cannot percieve the light of Christ all around us. But if we allow Jesus to set us free, He will lighten up our whole body, and the day of judgement can be faced w/o fear, for it will be a journay into the fullness of eternal light.

"35See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

I have handed this thread over to AliveIndeed as she has the book and will prove to be a reliable teacher I am sure.
Jesus gives us our seeds to plant but others water and others harvest.
Where He leads from here I only know will be a blessing.
In Jesus' love

Thank you for your faithfulness Angelwind. I "spoke" with AliveIndeed and she is overloaded as is but I know my time on this site is up. I feel in this thread that the basis of discipleship is here. The only points not covered are His power and Authority.
This thread would be best led still with the book "Search the Scriptures" by Varsity Press. I pray that Jesus will be at the wheel in whatever happens with it.
I won't ask that you do it, but I could think of nothing better. However that's not my call, yet I know it's also no longer my calling. I remember Maharg wondering about still being in the place where God put her, but God also tells us when to leave.
I didn't quit, I surrendered. :prayer:

If I may I wanted to add this to this thread since I thought it was an appropriate place for it.

submission was given to women after the fall as a method to alleviate the effects of a world where satan was the reigning force. Submission is not needed in a correct relation of believers except where they ought to submit to one another (end strife) in the manner of the new testiment commandments. as well as a means of keeping peace in a home. ie: right refered to might, again a method of protection given by God to protect the weaker vessel.
submit:
as a verb: in action
1. "She submitted a proposal to the agency"
2. Put before " I submit to you that the accused is guilty"
3. Yield to the control of another
4. Hand over formally
5. Refer to another person for decision or judgment
6. Submit or yield to another's wish or opinion
7. Accept or undergo, often unwillingly
8. Make an application as for a job or funding
9. Make over as a return
10. Accept as inevitable
submit as in yielding

as a verb: in action
1. Be the cause or source of
2. End resistance, especially under pressure or force
3. Give or supply
4. Give over; surrender or relinquish to the physical control of another
5. Give in, as to influence or pressure
6. Move in order to make room for someone for something
7. Bring about
8. Be willing to concede
9. Be fatally overwhelmed
10. Bring in
11. Be flexible under stress of physical force
12. Cease opposition; stop fighting
13. Consent reluctantly

_the subject is generally viewed from a man/woman standpoint but refers to all situations of control in the workforce etc. and ultimately aapplies, it would seem) to the forces encountored by humans in a satan ruled world where yeilding as opposed to combating evil is generally the safest way to protect oneself. IOW get out of the way the evil is in control and the weak are only stronger where they are in God.
The correct definition of Christian submission is of course definition # 5 Refer to another person for decision or judgment" where submitting to each other is refering to each other.
and there should be no reason to go on to the yeild definition, except for # 8 Be willing to concede" with each other.

^^ excellent.

I had the most profound thought. And think on it I did and I really do believe we all must live, as individuals, thru maturity, which is beyond the learning of Genesis as disciples, we all must live Revelations too. Like Angelwind I have no more words for it than each must become an overcomer (Gen) and then produce more overcomers (Rev 12)

When reading both Genesis and Revelation it's as tho God has declared His statement ...ie..God made mankind in His image repeated...this is the revelation of Jesus Christ chap 1-3, repeat...and then proceeded to explain what that means.
The law of double reference of using the visable to explain the invisable but also the known to explain the unknown, if that makes sence to anyone besides me..

I would also like to post this from another thread, some things to think about:

A Jewel of Sudan

I met one time a refugee a Lost Boy from Sudan
A handsome and a gentle soul who said his name was Kahn
Standing over 6' tall his skin was like charcoal
His eyes and teeth were white as snow I'm sure so was his soul

He'd not have said to me a word unless I dared to ask
Reluctantly he shared with me his wounded brutal past
I was aware of many things the Sudanese had seen
Both He and I did wonder why we failed to intervene

I asked Him where his family was if they too did survive
He told me that he did not know if they were still alive
He told when the soldiers came how they did maim and kill
As he described the horrors there my eyes began to fill

He told me in his county that 2 million souls have died
Because they chose to follow Christ, their own lives they denied
He told me that the soldiers said to allah they must bow
He knew that he could not do this he must escape somehow

He said he wound up in Kenya a mission took him in
Now orphaned in a foreign land new life must now begin
He said he went through all of this when he was only seven
Truly God has set aside for him a special place in Heaven

What did impress me most of all was that his heart not hard
His love for God and faith in Christ he could not just discard
I never could imagine how nor can it be explained
How one could suffer through so much his heart remain unstained

Kahn Kai is just one precious soul that God ordained I meet
Once I had heard what he'd been through my trials can't compete
So next time that you're feeling down remember my friend Kahn
America is truly blessed unlike those in Sudan.

:prayer: Stir us. o Lord, with Thy great Power
until Thy desires within us flow
making us witnesses daily for Thee
in us Thy yearnings show
stir us, o Lord, that we might bear
upon our hearts, the lost soul
wooing and winning, Thy Spirit within
make our love pure and whole
stir us, o Lord, and by us the world
wandering, sad and forlorn
that when they have seen yourself in me
shall they, in Thee, be born
stir us, o Lord, this our hearts prayer
e'er the night is spent away
may we be lights to guide them home
to radiant eternal day
AMEN

PRAYER FOR INTEGRITY
God, give us workers! At a time like this demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and and ready hands.
Workers whom the lust of office does not kill;
Workers whom the sloils of office cannot buy.
Workers who possess an opinion and a will
Workers who have honor, workers who will not lie.
Workers who will stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking
Tall, Soncrowned, who live above the fog
In public duty and private thinking.
For while the rabble, with their thumbworn creeds
their large professions and their little deeds
mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps
Wrong rules the land and waiting Justice weeps.
