Our love is very strong and I can that through the Lord it will only get stronger. He does not want to tear us about, just to draw us both closer to him and to each other.

I think one of the things that makes it all so hard, on my husband, is seeing how I have been effected badly by some churches. For a time he did attend church with me, he loved being there, always wanted to be there and then things happened, and it really I think hurt him more than me. But I have faith that one day he will see how much God loves him and he will want to be close to him.

I guess it can be very offputting to see Christians behaving badly,he will have to realise that being a Christian does not equal being a good person,it was a shock for me as well,when I first came accross bad Christian behaviour,I guess I wanted so badly to find a group of people one can trust,I let myslef to be naive.
As your man,he also most likely feels like your protector,
so I can see why it would all affect him more than you.

He is very protective of me which is one of the many things I love about him. In my search for a church, I am not just looking for myself, but for a place where he will feel good, feel at home and feel he can be himself..one day I know he will attend , so preparing for that now

That is one thing I am really trying to keep in mind. Not all Christians, not all churches are the same. And that is one thing I am looking for in a church, diversity.

Maybe I had to go through the hurts to come out on the other side a stronger person with my eyes open to what is truth and what is not, what lines up with God's word and what doesn't.

I will be praying that you find a great church, but not just a church but a church home

It could be, but hold fast to God's unchanging word, know that he is with you. Keep him first in all you do, but we all fall short of the glory of God, but know that when you do he is there to picking you back up again. He knows that we make mistakes but know that even when there is so much going on all arond you, know that he is still there keeping you and carrying you
