Struggles with thoughts.

I am stoll struggling with my thoughts, I keep making promises and agreeing that I will be leaving God and going with a demom of I do anything. My mind says because I promised it would be equivalent that it is true and that if I do anything I agreed not to do O woll have left God and went to a demon.

Don’t do it. Read your Bible until it passes. Thoughts don’t make us bad. We can fight them you know they are not true don’t let that happen. You can take them captive as in second Corinthians chapter ten verses 3-5.

are you saved? Have you given your life to Jesus? He wants to equip you to fight your thoughts and to find space from them to. Live.

I have, and I believe I am saved I asked many times so I am sure I am but I keep uncontrollably doing these promises and feel like I have to agree sometimes I have thoughts that say "If you touch the floor then you if you read a particular book then you will have left and gone with a demon." and I will say no but feel compelled to agree eventually.

I want you to know I'm praying for you. I believe what you are experiencing is something like what I had with OCD and other symptoms. If you're not already getting professional help with OCD, I strongly urge you to get it. If you cannot find help, message me and I'll do what I can to get you to the right person or people nearest you.

I pray that you know The Lord is perfect and cannot go back on His word. He accepted you as His and no matter how many promises you make or break, you belong to God. He will NEVER fail you because God cannot fail. He will always love you. He will always protect you. You will always be The Lord's. He knew you before He formed you in your mother's womb. He has great plans for you. Be kind to yourself. You are Loved by The Greatest Father; our creator and he knows the count of hairs on your head. Be well and breathe slowly. Find comfort in His mercy as He protects you from evil.

Praying now: Father, please protect this little lamb from attacks to break the spirit and hopefulness of this child of God. Father, please place this tender heart into capable and loving hands to protect, cure, and care for during this time of healing. Please, Dear Lord, give Kittyio calming peace of mind to find the joy and relaxation of knowing You've got a good plan in place. Thank You, God. I would say ignore them but I know you can’t. I get bombarded with intrusive thoughts sometimes. I take them captive as in those verses. I had so many distracting thoughts leading me astray that I prayed about taking them captive. He told me just say captive. So I do everyday. It separates me from them to a place where they can do no harm. But I have to keep up and stay focused. Please pray and try.

And read the tips particularly point 4, about intrusive thoughts.

God doesn't want us to make promises, vows etc.
He knows we cannot keep them, that is why Jesus said, ' Let your yes be yes or your no be know, adding vows, oaths etc to a promise is pointless.

But if you are being compelled or forced by your intrusive thoughts to make a vow or promise. Remember these are not binding if made under duress.
In the OT law there is provision for a responsible adult to annul vows made by those not qualified or vulnerable.
Take any promises you've made because of your intrusive thoughts to God, as 1John1:9 says he will forgive us and purify us.

Are you currently receiving any professional help for your OCD, or have you in the past?

Here is something that really helped me.

Let's say you're on a public bus, and there's a woman who was sitting in front of you.
They get up because this is their stop! You notice they forgot their cellphone on the bus seat.

You have a thought run across your mind.
"I can take this phone right now, and they won't even know! Nobody is even looking at me because they all are in the front of this bus. I won't even see this woman again!

Quickly, you yell out, " Ma'am you forgot you're phone here in this seat! And you pick it up and hand it to Her and she thanks you and leaves off the bus "


You didn't SIN because of the wicked thoughts that ran through your mind.
What happens is it starts with thoughts, then finally our actions.


A bad thought that pops into our head can be understood as a temptation. When we choose not to reject it, but instead yield to it, and accept that thought, and entertain it; this is the point in which we choose to sin in thought, which often times leads us to sin in act.



You see it goes THOUGHT> reject or accept > ACTION

The fact you're on this forum concerned about it I can bet that you have no desire to think or accept these thoughts running through your mind.

Rebuke, and stay strong against temptations!
