hey! anyone miss me? lol... i'm in the middle of medical craziness with new meds tacked onto my old ones. ... anyhow. i thought i'd pop in a note to ya. i'm starting therepy again. start next week. i'm really glad. my goals aren't clear yet. but that's ok. doc thought i needed a little boost. counselling will last 6 to eight weeks. it's a program to help people already in recovery to make life skill choices, not feel trapped (house bound) etc.

what sparked this was the amount of med break throughs... (doc calls it phycosis). so... i'm looking forward to it. the first thing we are doing is digging out my old files on DBT (diabolical behavior training)... and doing a refresher. yeay!! i'm glad for this. i always pick up more stuff this way. so... i'm done up dating.

I am glad you are still open to counselling. A lot of people refuse to ever go back because they feel they are taking a step back. But that is far from the truth. It is a step forward for us when we realize we need help looking at our options and dealing with everyday stressors. So I say...." you go girl."..... ....God Bless You and EVERYONE!!!....Rush

I am new here but I wish you the best in your therapy. It is wonderful that you have such a positive outlook towards it! I took a day therapy course a few years ago and it did wonders for my self esteem. I pray the same for you and more

To compound all of this, I started drinking when I was 16 years old. ( Sobriety feels so wonderful at this point! )

All of that aside, I have A Psychiatrist and 4 counselors picking at my brain on a regular basis.

I was also recently accepted into the local SAMI Program. ( Substance Abuse Mental Ilness ) This is very exciting for me, as several traditional methods were failing me.

I hope you all are coping in the best possible way.

opening up has to be worked at. what makes it easier, is a good counselor who coaches and helps you open up.

la la la... therepy books are hard to read. lol... she sent me home with two work booklets. it goes way over my head. i'm still looking forward to what direction this takes me. did i mention she's a christian? very sweet lady.

Dear Golden, so glad to hear that things are on the up-swing for you. It's great that your therapist is a Christian! I totally understand the struggle with adjusting to new meds.

well, my new meds aren't pulling their weight. looks like my dosage will be upped. i'm doing pretty good though.
being a moderator is helping me. lol i can't post my complaints. i could, but it seems like i shouldn't... which makes me deal with things differently.

I think you'll should get to vent if you'll want. Also, interacting more with everyone. When some become mods, you don't hear from them for months at a time!!! Suzybreezy, Linchen, I miss them!!!

This concerns me!!! This forum is different. You need to feel free to voice your feelings and complaints.


Should you fail to do this you are depriving yourself and those also suffering.


When you feel good I want to know it. When your feeling mean I want to know it. I want the REAL GOLDENVIOLET not some stiff necked moderator.



Moderators are people to. You can still do the job and be yourself. If you think something is out of hand that your a party to, refer it to someone that isn't.



You have played a very important role in this forum long before I ever learned about it. Don't let the position muffle your feelings and wisdom.



I sort of get a bang out of getting slashed by your comments. I promise never to report my bipolar friend!!!

haha! i thought this funny.
but seriously, i'm still me. i just am being/ doing things differently. if i vent it will be over the doctors i have. huh! boy could i rant and vent. but i'm handling it.
i didn't mean it in a negative way. i meant i'm sucking it up and that's helpful. on the other hand, yes i need to be just me. me is sitting in my jammies at computer, plotting dinner ... i'll think of something... give me a few days.
