I'm still praying to the lord to help me find a girlfriend. There's a lot going against me in finding and meeting someone. I'm tired of people saying I'm not ready to have someone and that I don't deserve one.

I pray god leads her to me, someone who exceeds all my expectations. Who matches all my preferences, more and beyond.

I've prayed for 17 years and my prayer has yet to be answered. I'm tired of waiting, looking, being rejected, turned down for others. They're always either not interested or taken. I wish this dry season would just die in Jesus name. I deserve someone special in my life now.
Why do people say you’re not ready to have someone and that you don't deserve one. Are they just being mean or is there some truth to it? I suggest that you talk this over your pastor if you haven’t. God always answers prayers, sometimes “yes,” sometimes “no,” but sometimes “wait.” It was the answer to me and I was almost 40 when I got married to a wonderful Christian woman and we are getting old but still very much in love. The other women I pursued have less ideal lives. It is possible that God is still growing and transforming you, as well as the woman he has for you. While you are waiting, pour your time in deepening your faith. That is what I did and I believe I got prepared to be a faithful Christian husband by the time I got married and a responsible Christian father by the time we had kids.

They're just mean people. They think it's funny I don't have anyone in my life and don't think I deserve anyone.

A couple years ago, my pastor prayed for me on that. He knew I was heart broken and was one of the first things he prayed for me when we first met. I was reluctant at first because I was worried that god would provide me someone I would not be happy waking up to on a daily basis. That's why I wait so long because I don't want to be with someone I will regret being with.

No way your Heavenly Father is going to lead you to someone you would be unhappy with? Why would you suspect Him of doing such a thing? Trust Him instead.

I pray you will be given insight and wisdom that leads to success in your quest.

Jesus did not marry. John the Baptist did not marry. Priests and nuns in the RCC do not marry. Love is about giving more than taking.
We actually don't know for sure if John the Baptist was married or not. We aren't told he was, and we aren't told he wasn't. That is the case with most of the apostles. Just sayin'. You are right that love is more about giving than taking, though.

Someone with a single garment of rough camel’s hair (sack cloth?), eating grasshoppers and wild honey, preaching in the desert, was presumed single.

The scribes who maintained a library of Dead Sea Scrolls during the first century at Qumran south of Jericho were not presumed to be single, until archaeologists dug up their cemetery and found only male skeletons, except for one Bedouin family burial. Qumran was destroyed during the Jewish War of 66-70 AD. The men hid their scrolls in jars in nearby caves.

Thanks. I just don't want to be lead to someone I find unattractive. If they're fat, ugly or ghetto or aren't what I deem attractive. I wouldn't give them a chance.

This is not a debate forum but I will respond this once. There is no absolute evidence, at all, that John the Baptist was a member of the Qumran community. It is purely speculative based on very, very incomplete data. I have not seen any documentation showing that wearing camel's hair, or eating wild honey (didn't Jonathan eat wild honey and he was married) or preaching in the desert indicated one was single.

The Bible tells us not to add to, or subtract from, what it says.

I know everybody wants a boyfriend or a girlfriend. However perhaps we can use this time to instead of trying to find a significant other, focus on ourselves and work on us. That way when this crisis with coronavirus is over and we can socialize, we will be the type of person a man or woman wants to be with? Just a thought...

Would you settle for more?:prayer:

Ideally, yes.

Of course, I'm tired of this waiting game. I'm tired of God withholding blessings and I'll be angry if I'm holding out for someone I don't want anything to do with or be with. I deserve far better than something I don't want.
