I have always been a fan of Steven King novles gone movies.... mind you the book is always better`

Another one is James Patterson... I love his books and the movies that were made of the books too. (Kiss the Girls, Along came a Spider)

I've never really liked any of his movies. I'm an extremely avid reader, and the movies always seem to ruin the books for me for some reason. I'm the kind of person who reads the same book over and over and over again until it's falling apart if I like it, and I think seeing the movies of the Stephen King books that I really enjoy just ruin my imagination. So much in his books are about the characters' thought processes, and it's really hard to show that on film. The movies just aren't as good, in my opinion.

'IT' is the only movie i am totally too scared to watch. I watched it when i was really young and it's scared me ever since
The Green Mile is amazing, as is shawshank. Some of the movie adaptations are quite bad (the one with the car for one) but some are really good.
Oh, stand by me is really good aswell. The shining is cool- i keep forgetting really good ones. There must be tonnes more. Hearts in Atlantis was pretty good. could go on for ages....

I'm not a big fan of Stephen King. Not big on the idea of putting your deepest inner demons on film in a horror manner. Which is what I'm convinced his movies are about and how they are portrayed. His deeper demons and the manifestations of his fears and weaknesses in the thought forum of bizarre characters. But that's another conversation that might worth some time. ^_^

The movie with Johnny Depp looks like it may be good from a psychological perspective. I like movies that deal with our inner minds. I've read the first part of the movie is the character inside the cabin by himself and the issues he goes through and faces. Dealing with his inner self. I will check out this movie. ;)

"IT" was great up untill the end, what was that all about???

Scream was such an awesome movie, probably my favorite horror movie ever!! To bad Mr. King didn't write that. :p

Christine was great! Cujo another awesome thriller! Maximum Over Drive, that was alot of fun too.The Shining, an all time classic.

Besides this last picture, when was the last time Stephen King made a movie for the big screen?

Sunstone;

I readily concur about "IT" - it was sooo creepy with Tim Curry, etc..then at the end I was like, a big honking black widow spider thingie???????????

I think, aside from Secret Window - the last movie based on one of his books was Dreamcatchers. I haven't seen the film yet but the book was rather.... I read the whole thing mostly because I had just moved back to CA, had no furniture and nothing else to do....

I like Shawshank the best, IT was pretty cool, the Graveyard Shift had a neat atmosphere, but the characters in it were rather shallow and boring (at least in the film adaptation). I think I'm gonna read some more of his stuff, instead of just watching it.

I used to be scared of that one too. My ex used to come up behind me and do the voice "you want a balloon...they float, they all float" ug...it gave me shivers. But then, I found out Tim Curry (one of my favorites) played Pennywise, and it just wasn't scarey anymore...I mean how can you be afraid of Dr. Frankenfurter?

The thing about his books and movies, is that he has a very odd style about him...slightly quirky, and there always seems to be something funny to the books too...and it doesn't always translate from literature to film as well unless you get his style. (basically unless you're a weirdo like him too)

I have been afraid of clowns, according to my mother, almost since birth. But 'IT' took it over the top for me. Because I saw that movie, I threw canned food at a clown at a school carnival when I was 9 and was almost kicked out of school, THANKS ALOT MR. KING!
I'm sorry but... ^_^ It's because I never liked clowns but I didn't throw a can of food at one - but to this day I AM still scared of spiders. I would screech like a 4 year old if they're bigger than the size of a dime. But this IT one didn't really scare me. (Shelob made me really squirm though, that has got to be the most realistic giant spider I've seen in a movie. )

But it reminded of this comedian who was saying how he always got tortured by his older brother; spending out 3 years of his life in a headlock - and then said "Can you imagine if Stephen King was your older brother??? Dadddyyyy tell Stevie to stop making the walls bleed..." ^_^
