I'm not Christian so offer a different perspective to others here - also I'm not American.
You are attending university to equip you professionally for a life-long career. Those attending with you, will come from a diversity of backgrounds and views on life. You can choose to shun their opinions and closet yourself to like-minded people, or you can embrace the fluid and diverse nature of human beings. I hope, for the benefit of building yourself as a person of wisdom, you choose the latter.
Additionally, you will be exposed to a range of educational viewpoints. University prides itself on being research/evidence-based. Thus the scientific view will prevail. Again you can take the scientific view onboard and reconcile it with your religious perspective, or you can shun it. I would argue that doing there latter would not be a healthy choice in order to complete your studies successfully.
