It is not that the mean nothing. It is that the fact is that many times it is tougher for them to recover anyway. I know a lot of older people and common sense sort of says that their lives DO matter, but they also realize particularly once they are in their late 70s and 80s and up look I have lived a long life something will get me at some point. In fact, there are times that it is OK to be glad someone died. ( Not glad in the sense that yay they died, but glad in the sense that their suffering is over. In many cases, older people have conditions that will get them anyway and frankly they are ready to go. ( Not always.)Do the lives of older persons mean nothing to you ? How young does one have to be for you to care about whether they live or die ?
