Lovely day today, 16 degrees C, going up to 18; down to 9 overnight.

Out of curiosity have you ever been out on the Bruce Peninsula? it looks to me spectacularly beautiful, and I want to use it as a setting for a story. I don’t know if the hunting is any good there, as some of it is First Nations territory, and some of it is a national park, but I have heard the fishing is first rate. Places like Wiarton, Southampton, Meaford, Chatsworth, and so on, up the peninsula, which is quite large.

Very beautiful indeed! I have been to all those places. Military base at Medford, aka Medford Tank Range. A big ferry departs from Tobermory across Georgian Bay to Manitoulin Island. Ontario highway 6 starts in Hamilton, goes north through Guelph, up through Durham to Owen Sound, through Waitron to Tobermory, continues on to the ferry (MS Chi-Cheemaun). Then across Georgian Bay, 6 continues north across Manitoulin Island, across the North Chanel on a swing bridge over 100 years old, and up through Whitefish Falls, past Wallisville and Espanola terminating at the TransCanada Highway, Highway 11 (which originates at lake Ontario as Yonge Street, Toronto.

Yonge Street? I had no idea, but that would make for quite the subway extension eh?

I just realized that I have not posted the latest iteration of my 455. I just can't get enough shooting to keep me happy!! Here is my best group so far; center to center 0.930"; sub MOA at 100 yards with a .22; who would have thought!!!

BTW, one change not shown in this photo is the scope rings. I just changed it up from the Weaver short steel in the photo to Weaver mediums. I was finding it a bit difficult to get my face low enough for the scope. The change is working well, in that I have a better neck angle, and my eye is dead center in the scope's field of view.

I’m hear ya. In the doldrums myself. Too hot. Very nice rig though.
Thanks! I did get out to the range yesterday, but just for a bit of fun with my replica cap and ball revolver, and to pattern a new to me shotgun. A Hungarian FEG side by side. Very nice shape, and patterns where it should on both barrels, full and modified.

Sounds like a great pheasant gun. Modified first I hope. What are your uses for it? Maybe they can’t last the winters there. We have quail too and turkeys.
I will only shoot clays with it, and possibly use it in IDPA with slugs. (Two Gun). I want to get some slugs and sight it in. Yes, modified front trigger, then full, rear.

These continental guns are built a bit heavier than English and French doubles as they were used with slugs and buckshot for boar and stag. Stocks are cut differently too. I will be wearing a recoil pad when shooting slugs, she does kick, even with S & B target loads.

seems to me the slugs are rifled. I like skeet haven’t shot it forever.

Skeet was my sport, but very limited in availability right now. Here in my county, there is no "rifle" season for deer; one week shotgun and black powder season and 2 month bow season. Rifled slugs and buck=shot are the norm, but some have barrels on their pump and semi shot guns that are rifled and use smooth slugs. Both shoot pretty good out to 100 yards, but 50-75 yards is more realistic though and 40 yards for buckshot.
