I see.
Well, even if not a politician, he's a famous person, or well-known or whatever. People like to get their picture taken with politicians, celebrities, etc., but it doesn't indicate knowing or being affiliated with them in any way, or endorsing them.

Enrique Tarrio has made it very clear that he is not a white supremacist, nor is the group that he is the leader of.

You can describe them as misogynist, they would claim they want to get back to traditional values. But they are a very diverse group and describing them as "white supremacist" is just ignorant. They have advertised in right wing publications where white supremacist groups might also advertise, but just because Budweiser and Google advertise at the same event doesn't make them the same.

It shows that there's no point in any further attempts to educate you on this subject. Perhaps others will be emboldened by the idea that taking over an area of 6 city blocks and turning it into a crap zone complete with arson and vandalism since you claim it's not criminal.

I did not make that claim. Perhaps you would care to engage with the arguments I did make? Namely that simply being in the CHOP was not a criminal act.

(Reuters) - A supporter of the right-wing Proud Boys group who was indicted for pointing a firearm and firing a paintball gun at anti-racism protesters in Portland, Oregon, was arrested early on Wednesday, according to a county prosecutor.
.....
Swinney, who has “Proud Boy” tattooed on his right arm, was indicted on Sept. 11 for allegedly spraying mace, causing physical harm with a paintball gun and pointing a revolver during demonstrations in Portland on Aug. 15 and Aug. 22, according to court documents.

A Multnomah County jury returned several guilty verdicts Tuesday in the trial against Alan Swinney, a far right extremist who faced 12 charges stemming from his role in violent political clashes in downtown Portland during the summer of 2020.

Swinney was found not guilty on one second-degree assault charge, but was convicted of the remaining counts, including unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault, pointing a firearm at another, second-degree unlawful use of mace, among others.
...
Swinney was also accused of shooting Megan Steward in the chest with a paintball gun. Steward testified that she was walking by Chapman Square and the Justice Center when the Aug. 22 brawl was happening. She stopped to film the spectacle.

Steward said she was hit in the chest, knocking the wind out of her. She didn’t know what it was until she looked down and saw paint.

“Did she deserve to get shot with a paintball? Yeah,” Swinney said in the recorded jail call. “Am I glad? Yeah.”

Judge sends self-proclaimed Proud Boy Alan Swinney to prison for 10 years, citing his lack of remorse

A judge on Friday sentenced self-proclaimed Proud Boy Alan Swinney to 10 years in prison for pulling out a loaded revolver, firing paintballs and spraying bear mace at counterprotesters in downtown Portland last year.

The prosecutor also presented the judge with a letter Swinney wrote from jail to Chauvin, who was convicted of murder in the killing of Floyd. Neither the letter nor the envelope had a date on it, but Vasquez said Swinney sent it shortly after Chauvin’s conviction.

Swinney wrote that he was sorry the former officer was convicted and suggested that he and Chauvin “are connected in a way.” He said since Floyd’s death, he’s been fighting coast to coast with the left and “BLM agitators.’’

That seems like way too much. Over here in germany, that's the kind of sentence you get for murder in the second degree.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but there were a number of specific incidents and 11 guilty verdicts.

The jury found Swinney, 51, guilty of 11 of 12 charges: one count of second-degree assault, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of unlawful use of Mace and one count each of pointing a firearm at another, attempted second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, attempted fourth-degree assault and menacing.

What's the reasoning for making him serve consecutively instead of concurrently?

One assumes the “no remorse” factored into the judge’s decision to opt for this course of action.

"BLM agitators".... LOL!!!!!!!

Anyway, this is what has to be done to this guy and all others like him. If they have no remorse they need more time in corrections. Great sentence except perhaps it could have been for longer.

...that sentence may be much shorter if the Trump party wins in 2024....

I don't think Trump would pardon someone who he couldn't profit from in the future or who has dirt on him.

Everybody sentenced so far is "small time" and has no further value to the EX President, except for being able to call the "martyrs". You know martyrs end up.
