Why are people so afraid of immersion baptism?I was rather apprehensive about it but I decided to cowboy up after learning the Greek word for baptism means 'immerse'. Thirty seconds of embarrassment beats regretting not being immersed for the rest of my life.

I think someone else may get use out of the horse trough that I was baptised in. They are still deciding whether they want to be immersed or not.

They still do for children. I wore jeans and a t-shirt into my baptismal font to protect my modesty.
Aria said:Here in Los Angeles, the priests usually tell the folks to wear a white bathing suit with a white T-shirt. In the winter or summer, it can be very hard to find a white bathing suit. Many just wear white shorts and white T-shirts.
Photini said:I chose a dark color for modesty reasons as well. I didn't realize though, that the Greeks want to rub as much of your body down with olive oil as they can get their hands on. So my mid-section was exposed for a couple of minutes, which was kind of embarassing.
