My son loves orange juice. He can take down a half gallon in a matter of 3 days or so by himself. It's funny, because when I was pregnant with him, I craved orange juice like you wouldn't believe. I still crave an ice cold orange julius every once in a while.gzt said:oh man, i was at the grocery store just now and they had a special on orange juice, two of those half-gallon things for $4. i'm no longer losing my vitamin c!

But on the other hand, this is my family, and they attended mine and my children's baptisms when we became Orthodox.
Ugh! Why did it have to be THIS Sunday?
It's a 2 1/2 hour drive to the monastery. We would be leaving very early in the morning and getting home probably around 10 pm.Matrona said:What time is the baptism? Is there any way you could get to the baptism and then go to the monastery or the other way around?
If I were you I'd go to the baptism since it is a one-time event.

That is why I made my own dress. Saved a bundle of money and I knew where it was at all times.![]()
Khaleas said:I would have made/have it made if I had more time, but at this point it just over 3 months to the wedding... Most dresses have a delivery time of 12-16 weeks so I hope I can find something...
I'm actually thinking of trying to get the one they have on the rack and just alter it. It looked in good shape and with their messing up I'm sure they can work something out. Now I just have to get a hold of someone in the store and hope that they haven't sold the floor model yet... arrrrr...
OK, back to bed trying to get some more sleep... argh, I am sick of jetlag.
Aria said:I made my dress in about 2 days. Then I made my veil and petticoat in one day and I was set. It only took about one day to get all of the materials. I had to go to different fabric stores to find what I wanted. So, it took about one week from start to finish. I didn't have a train on my dress, but my veil was extra long and trailed on the floor for about three to four feet behind me. I also made a blush that was attached to the front part of the veil and I was able to put the crown on top of my veil.
I made my floor length dress it out of cotton eyelet as it was a hot September wedding. For my belt, I got a piece of very durable fancy lace and sewed pearls on it. I used bridal lace wherever I could so that my dress truly looked beautiful.
There were several McCalls Patterns that were lovely. Mine had a square neck with long sleeves. It was very modest. The dress was layered with a full old-fashioned petticoat underneath made with bridal illusion. After the wedding, I cut off the bottom layer off the dress, so that it was just below my knees, then I used it for dressy occasions. So I was able to use it more than once.
