doot doot. so i got my grades back, i somehow did a lot better on topology than i thought. i was fairly certain i had bombed that test, but i got an average score and ended up with an A- (?!?!??) in the class. i don't know what crazy grading scale he must have used to come up with that, but all i can say to taht is "doot doot!" victory for hte forces of democratic freedom!

Congratulations.

Sometimes I believe that the professors grade on the curve.

Othertimes, they must be lenient when grading those essays.

I know one professor (not an English professor) who gives an A on short essays as long as you have written three or more sentences that make sense.

Have you ever read Delano by John Orozco? It is a satire on college life in the 1960s with the marijuana scenes. And yes, it's downright honest but hilarious in some areas. Parents should read it before sending their children off to school. They may not want to. :D

Probably shares a scale with my advanced physical geography prof... I missed half the semester cuz I was sick all the time. But he'd curve everything (not really curve, just add points), first he curved all the tests massively, then he curved each lab and then curved the average of the labs (I had like a 103 on my labs and I had one 100 of all 12 labs), then he took the grades and averaged it all out and curved our final grades as well... So I ended up with an A in a class where I had gotten one true A... :D Not that I'm complaining...

But to the point (I'm missing that part a lot today) CONGRATS on your grades!

Time to putter myself to bed!

They are saying one more day of roasting here... then a bit cooler! It was quite nice when I was out with the dog, not soo muggy.

Good night everyone and God Bless you all! May he keep you safe!

It sounds like an interesting read, especially for teens. What is the age-appropriateness?

I checked your profile and found the Amazon connection but Amazon don't have any information on number of pages or a preview of what is inside because the book hasn't been published yet. That is why I wondered how many pages the book contained.

It's short... like 100 pages. Age-appropriateness is hard to say... it's not just for people my age but also for anyone interested in people my age and our spirituality... that was actually the original intention IIRC. But I always wanted to mainly write for teens (my attempt at reaching out to people my age), so it came out as about half-and-half.

In IC XC,

I actually had a professor for a class on the Third Reich let me select a topic for a paper that he knew was more than I could handle just to see how well I would adress the subject and then he gave me a B on the paper because I did a good job. This professor was one of the most challenging professors I have ever had and one of the ones who I learned the most from during the four classes which I took from him that year.

Good morning my friends!!! Dog started barking and woke me up! But I'm going to try to crawl back into bed soon...
Btw, I love 15 hour votives because I can have them lit all night in my icon corner. My icon lamp burns off the oil in about 5 so that doesn't work... although I'd get a lot more done in a day if I slept only five hours.

Hope you all have a good day... even if we're going to be steam cooked here in MD again...

Xenia, if you're going to rant about the weather, you're welcome to visit us for the next few days. Today's max is 17c (63f) and we were 0c (32f) last night:D

And worse is coming for the weekend.

Eh, I'm going to Finland on Sunday and then on Wednesday we head to Northern Norway so it's going to be plenty cold there above the Arctic Circle. Apparently today is supposed to be our last hot day and then we're back to nicer 75ish weather... can't wait. In the evening my ceiling is just radiating heat after all the sun during the day.

OK, Xenia is puttering off for part of the day... gotta meet with the photographer today and run a bazillion errands...
