Also, I have to share my experience this morning... reason #9803983983 why I love the saints...

I have really bad chronic stomach problems, and this morning at like 2 or 3 AM I woke up in terrible pain... and after like 10 minutes I moved to the bathroom where I tried to calm down... anyway finally I remembered that St. Nectarios was supposed to help with stomach problems (it turns out that he's actually supposed to help with cancer, and St. Theodore the Studite is supposed to help with stomach problems, but I don't think God cared that I messed it up), so I called out: "St. Nectarios, help me! Most Holy Theotokos, pray for me!" and WITHIN SECONDS the pain went away... and I've felt better ever since.

God is glorious in His saints!

Great - and some ya-yas don't let disabilities get in the way of making prostrations. In fact, they can make them faster than I can.

Prostrations keep them healthy in body and soul.

Dear Marjorie,

I checked Amazon ... but they don't have any information on it yet.

How many pages is it? Does it contain your journey to Orthodoxy too?

It's on amazon... what did you search for? If you search for my first and last name it comes up, or the title of the book (A Tiny Step Away from Deepest Faith.)

It's mainly about coming to Christ, but that of course is inseparable from Orthodoxy for me... so it comes through pretty obviously at points.

Marjorie!!! I have on an occasion or two been envious of your brilliance and obvious talent, but this is just amazing!!! I will be first in line to buy your book!

And btw, what rules about self-promotion? I do it all the time!!! Like this! http://www.peterandpaul.net/Music.shtml

:p

3.1 You will not post any messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, email address, business, MLM (Multi Level Marketing or pyramid schemes), activity, church, ministry, prophetic services or any other entities or services that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion).
3.2 You will not request, beg or solicit donations or financial support (charitable or otherwise, for any reason) anywhere on the site including in e-mails, posts, and PMs.
3.3 You will not post any personal contact details in the forums. This includes email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses.

In other words, don't use CF for making personal profit. It's both against the rules and also it's really unfair to Erwin, who spends $20000 on this website every year and scratches out far less than that in donations and Google text ad revenue.

It sounds like an interesting read, especially for teens. What is the age-appropriateness?

I checked your profile and found the Amazon connection but Amazon don't have any information on number of pages or a preview of what is inside because the book hasn't been published yet. That is why I wondered how many pages the book contained.

St. Nectarios has reportedly healed many suffering from cancer and so has St. John of San Francisco and Shanghai. At the Shrine to St. Nectarios in Southern California (Covina, California), I met an elderly Greek gentleman who almost died and was restored to health. He is a firm believer and shares his story with any who will listen.

I pray to St. Nicholas whenever I have missplaced anything. He is great for finding lost things ... including missing persons. Perhaps we should tell Thornygrace about him.

Hey everyone! One round of something cold on me!

Someone must have been watching out for me because with less than 4 months to go I found both a photographer and a videographer today. I haven't met with them yet but their stuff looks good online.
Cake, transportation and hotel is all of the big things I have left.

Does your church have a hall you can rent to avoid the hotel costs?

We're having our reception elsewhere and I need hotel rooms for us to get ready in and for baby sitter in the evening, plus of course our room for the night. Plus I should probably try to find a rate for out-of-towners (well, just about all guests).

Do this soon..... maybe you can negotiate a block of rooms.

I just found out that these quotes mean spiritual presence only. :D :sorry:

"At first it is laid upon the alter as a mere bread and wine mixed with water, but by the coming of the Holy Spirit it is transformed into the body and blood, and thus it is changed into the power of a spiritual and immortal nourishment."
-Theodore of Mopsuestia

"as God makes us alive, not merely by granting us a share in the Holy Spirit, but by granting us in edible form the flesh which he assumed."
-St. Cyril of Alexandria

"confessing that God the Logos, being one of the Trinity, became flesh and was made man, eat his body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and for life everlasting"
-St. (Emperor) Justinian
