  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've had a really hard day. I think the stress is getting to me. My husband is losing his job in July and my 11 year old is on psych release from school for the rest of the year after a really nasty meltdown at school last week (from which I have several lovely bruises).

I'm tired. I know everyone tells me that God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but sometimes I wonder... can't it be someone elses turn? Don't I have enough crap to deal with already?

Prayers, hope everything gets better for you.

O Lord, thy disciple Emperor Constantine, who saw in the sky the Sign of Thy Cross,/ Accepted the call that came straight from Thee, as it happened to Paul, and not from any man./ He built his capital and entrusted it to Thy care./ Preserve our country in everlasting peace, through the intercession of the Mother of God,/ for Thou art the Lover of mankind. I really want my upstairs neighbors to move. I can't figure out what this noise is that they are making every night for hours on end, but it sounds like digging/scratching and it's right above where my bed is. I hate it.

Do they have a dog or a cat?

I hope there are not rats up there. Roof rats that is.

So, yesterday I'm leaving for work and it comes down to drive the truck with a stick shift or take the bus.

Here's the problem: I learned to drive and took my drive test on an automatic

I did not know that one could kill the engine so many times in such small amount of time and it could still work

Apparently it is not only a bad idea, but also physically impossible to start from stop with the truck in 3rd gear

And some people say that "baptism by fire" is a horrible way to learn things! pshaw!

Having an interesting evening. Andrew has the entire "Blackest Night" story arc of Green Lantern to read, and is absorbed in that, we have the tv on in the background, in between reading he's making tomato, capsicum (red pepper), red onion and garlic soup with pasta, and I'm stitching away on Peter Rabbit.

Also, Greece "mandala" embroidery design - this is the computer generated version, the real one will be more variegated, less block-ey and more sparkly (lots of metallic thread, beads and swarovski crystals)...I'm going to stitch it for Andrew's sister who wants it

Reminds me of the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts is trying to drive the stick shift Lotus...

Do they have a dog or a cat?

I think they have both. I think they put the dog in a cage at night (he's a puppy) and it is him digging and scratching on the cage.

Jack thumped the ceiling so hard with a broomstick the other night that it punched a hole in the ceiling. It made the sound stop though. Temporarily.

We got some bratwursts from the first micro brewery in North Carolina. The owner is German and they are DELISH!!! That was our dinner along with their phenomenal sauerkraut.
