I am stuck.

Since I am working tomorrow, I can get half off for food at work. Since I am trying to follow the fast as best as possible, this limits me to the pasta.

However, about ten blocks south of work, is a restaurant called "Mr. Greek" that opened up about six months ago. This begs the question on if they have anything Lenten!
Eh... probably.

Decisions, decisions...

Wow.

I'm looking for rock music from Eastern European countries to add to my mp3 player so that if/when I learn Russian or similar I would be able to have a better grasp on the pronunciation.
Worked when I was taking German.

Greek rock is soooooooo much different from US rock!

A couple Serbian bands I've found aren't too bad.

Still looking for a good Russian band.

Is there any way you can get a Lenten salad?

Pasta is only starch or glue depending on how you look at it.

Ummmmmmmmm! :D

Helloooooooooooo! :D

Has anyone noticed a programming trick in the CF system?

Anytime a post reaches 1000 posts, the original OP becomes the new OP.

And so the OP can continue indefinitely even after the
original poster of the thread no longer posts at CF.

Yes, this programming problem has struck the Taverna,
a popular name that is known throughout Cyberspace ...
if you do not believe me, then do a Google search.

St. Euphrosynos Taverna and Ouzeri rates.

So, I am proposing a contest.

To be fair, and give everyone fair notice, let us say that the first person
who reaches 500 should start a brand new Taverna with a picture or
whatever decor they would like.

Therefore, as the OP of this thread, I request that the TAW mods
close this thread with the 500th post and put this baby to rest.

What do you guys think? Go and see what OBOB is doing with Reilly´s pub.

Do you have any comments or suggestions?

Not to rain on your parade, but gelatine is technically an animal product... I don't see any real reason to avoid it as many people have no idea, and it certainly doesn't taste like meat, but I'm sure that there are people who would say that it is not allowed. Honestly I find it more strange to use dairy and meat substitutes than to eat an animal product that tastes like fake strawberry flavor...
Just like there is a milk product in powdered creamer but who cares LOL... My body revolts at soy milk (it does soy in other products just fine). However, there is apparently something now missing from my diet (which is pretty good in 'whole' foods otherwise too) that doesn't raise my blood pressure so every time I get up from laying down/sitting down for a longer period of time I'm very dizzy. I used to be like this until I moved to the US so it's definitely something in the US diet... could be salt but there's a fair share of salt in what I'm eating now. Now I just have to remember to move about a bit before I get up and then take it easy for about a minute. Woo, I feel 20 all over again... :p

I am a chocolate addict and trying to kick it out... is so hard....
Since I started my new healthier eating and lifestyle, I knew it would be hard to kick my "sweet tooth". I found Ghiradelli's dark chocolate squares to be very AWESOME!!! I can eat one and feel that it was enough chocolate good about eating it and not go back for another 3 more! :D Dark chocolate has antioxidants. So does coffee and I think walnuts and some other foods. You are suppose to eat antioxidants every day........according to Dr. Mehmet Oz!!! ;)

So, what are your thoughts on those who are unable to follow a strict fast due to pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Oh and Aria, I like the idea that you proposed.
Just do what you can! My priest told me to abstain from red meats and to try to eat only chicken, lean pork, and fish. This is because of health right now. So, I still follow fast on Wednesdays and Fridays (I do use fat free milk and fat free cheese, though) and try to do the best I can all the other days with eating smaller amounts of meat. I am also trying to read more "spiritual and edifying" books during Lent, volunteer work, charity, prayers, etc.

Me too, chocolate is a what I need to throw out in my fast. Also sweets. I tend to double up on some sweets (fruit wraps, etc.), and that is not good. I'll drink some more fruit juice, but have make sure not too much of that. Some orange juice in the morning for breakfast is always good. ;)

What Greek rock bands have you come across? Nikostheater on here introduced me to C-Real, though they're more goth rock like evanesence or within temptation
Just one song that I listened to by Basilis Papakonstantinou.
I'll probably look for more now that it isn't almost midnight! :D

I've never been a big fan of salads.

In the end, I decided to walk to Olive Garden and I had some pasta and soup.

Anyone who wants to be an instant friend of mine just has to make good pasta!
