Whatever you do, don't get involved with a serious interior decorator. Speaking of which, we're finishing our basement, you'll like this Michael, we're putting in a media room with leather theater chairs, the new Sony 70" with blue ray and surround sound, whatever all of that is? I think media rooms are mostly a guy thing too.
Anyway, I want a dark carpet in the basement since the teenagers will be taking it over. I have to decide today, but I don't know if dark charcoal carpet will go with the beige walls in the living space. The media room walls are dark plum and the carpet looks good there. When I get frustrated about color down there I have to remember, it's just a basement!!!

As for your theater room, that sounds awesome!!! I have yet to decide what I will do with my basement. I need to waterproof it first and then it will either be a rec room with a pool table, or a woodshop. The thing is, if I don't put the woodshop in the basement, I will have to put it on the back of the garage I am going to build. That actually wouldnt be a bad idea though, because then all of the saw dust would stay out of my house. But one thing is certain, if I do make it a rec room with a nice TV, pool table, etc, the walls will not be colored plum, or mauve, or rose or any such color. LOL!

A throw back from the 80's. It's really comfortable and in a strange sort of way, my husband likes it!!! I would love to get rid of it and update that room, but he can't part with it!

Plum is too purple for me, but my icon corner room which I will be painting in a month or so will be brick red or wine colored.

Hubs getting ready to board the last leg of his flights. Phew!!! He's happy to be getting closer and already warned me that he stinks from traveling for over 18 hrs by the time he gets here... I told him, no problem, the bathroom is cleaned and I set out a set of clothes for him.

After being together 24 years, married 20 years this July, I think we've both lost that will to want to pamper each other. He's lucky if there's a meal ready for him when he gets home from work.

Thanks, Don! I was immature then and my daughter just told me how stupid I am for wanting you guys to guess what I look like. I get a visual in my head when I'm talking to all of you (if you don't have your picture in the photo album already), so I just thought maybe you guys have a visual of me.

You usually know what you're marrying into with the Navy and although we've had a very unusual situation it's been ok.

Thanks! I'm not sure yet. We can't really go anywhere tonight since it's Monday and my hubby has worked hard all day. I'm making him one of his favorite meals for dinner, though: beef fajitas. We are deferring any other plans until this coming weekend.
