It seems like not a pin drop would not be heard in this place :) lol.... they are so seriously watching....

Hi Anatole, unfortunately I got too much going on but the next couple of days I am off and I will be on Taverna. I have noticed too that Michael is the salt and Jenn is the pepper in the Taverna ....(or the other way around lol...) they are so good to have around always bring up my spirits with their witty conversations.....

Komnenos i liked your other outfit it looked so commando....lol... considering you live where you live... just kidding though really....no offence.

Hi Anatole,

I signed on to see if anyone was posting on here, it looks deader than usual!

Jenn and Kevin bought their house from me (and a couple of my partners), and I attend church occasionally with DonVa, so I have some clout around the taverna. If you need anything, just let me know, it's on the house. lol

Sorry I had the laptop ripped out of my hands by my daughter. She's disturbed that I'm always on here!
Of course she's always on her computer on My Space and Facebook and I don't bother her.
My family is really having a hard time with this. I finally found something I love to do and they can't handle it. Do you guys have this problem?

Orthowannabe, earlier you said that there's mostly chanting in your church, the congregation doesn't sing, and did you say you don't have a choir? That's so opposite from our DL.
We have an amazing choir, our whole congregation sings including the children, and there's very little chanting. Our church is an easy transition from protestant church to EO. Most of the music we sing in the DL is Byzantine and Russian. Our Bishop has been to our church at least once a year to make sure were doing everything right and he's always impressed because he's pleasantly surprised that our congregation sings, so this must not be the case in most of the churches he visits.
Sorry about my rambling on, I just wish you could bring her to our church. I know she'd be hooked.

By the way, Jenn, I am glad Kevin made it home safely, and I hope you guys are really enjoying your time together!

Hopefully we will get some May-like weather soon, instead of this crappy March type weather we have had so much of lately.
Yea, what's with this crap weather??? Yesterday morning when I looked at the weather it was going to be great all week... now it says rain all week. I've got lots of plants that need to go in the ground so I guess we'll just have to work around the showers.
Kevin is busy putting up the surround system (yay for tax free pay LOL) and off I go because he's hollering for help.
We're adjusting... it's odd having to take another person into consideration and there's so much action going on with another body doing stuff. I made him drive today and it went a lot better than last year after deployment. PHEW!!! It'll be a few days and I'm sure we'll be back to normal... now it's work on the little honey-do list. Nothing major but his drill weighs a ton and a half so I'm not able to use it...

Well, I have been to DonVa's GOC a couple of times. They do have a choir, and an organ, so the chanting is a little less foreign sounding. But so far, I haven't heard to many people singing along with the choir.

My wife has not gone with me to this church yet, but she is pretty much dead set against it.

She wants praise and worship music, and wants to be in the choir. She also wants the traditional teaching type sermons.

I used to like that stuff too (still like some Christian rock) , but I have gradually grown to realize that Orthodoxy is the right way.

Evening TAW (and all my neighbors!)
Jenn: You and Kevin have ALL the cool toys! You're right about this weather. If it's not gusty winds, it's misty rain. I have a couple of plants I still need to get into the ground and some mulch to spread, and I can't get a good day to do it. All I need is a warm, dry 30 minutes to finish up.

Ortho: My conversation with Danny went well last night after the Men's Group meeting. He said it would be an honor to be my son's godfather! I changed the baptism date (for the third time!) to June 23rd today, pending Fr. Jimmy's approval. Hopefully this is the last of the date-juggling!
