Yea, Kevin is whining because he's had he early go the past three days (considering they have actually gotten to fly one of those three days - guess they got struck by a bit of 'bird flu' ) so when they finally get home from dinner he goes straight to bed to get even close to required crew rest. I keep telling him that at least he has a job where sleeping is part of the job description. I got him some cool tools from SEARS (a shop/vac, a circular saw, a small compressor (3 gal) and a brad nailer to go with it. Next he is getting a shed to go with it so the mitre saw can move out of the kitchen. Then again I've got my own ideas for their uses... moooolding. Gotta spoil him while I can, he'll leave in 4 months.
I need to have you train whoever ends up being my next wife. :D

That's a great deal! I just got him Craftsman (same maker, different name) at SEARS. I need to figure out the shed so I can order it and we can move out all these tools.
If you want to, you can always order 2 and have one shipped to Pennsylvania...

Hahhahah, it's all to my advantage. I can come up with projects and he can never say... Oh, we don't have that tool. I know we still need either a router or a drillpress but I need to get the shed first. Sears had a good sale (still today) so I saved some money.

I have a small drill press, want to get a bigger one. I need to get a router table, and need to get my table saw up and running. I have a very small band saw, but am really thinking I could use a 14" bandsaw... The x-wife wasn't too thrilled over the $ I spent on my lathe, band saw and drill press 'till she saw all of the pens and bowls I made for her! :D

Maybe it's like Shakespeare and gets easier to understand as you get used to it.

I should be reading Spiritual Counsels by St. John of Kronstadt or Unseen Warfare right now. Thanks for the inspiration.
I hope you're right. I'm taking a Shakespeare class and I never have time for THOSE readings because of this class with the difficult book.

I just had a nosebleed and a bit of blood got on the difficult book. I managed to rinse the page with water so there's only a faint stain. Maybe I'll tell the professor that I studied his book so hard it made my brain bleed. :D

I think you should.

Remember how pink Klingon blood was in one of those later Star Trek movies? 6 or 7 I think. The one with Capt. Von Trapp's eye covered by a nailed on patch.

Good morning to those who are not slug-friendly and to other friends

Maybe I'll tell the professor that I studied his book so hard it made my brain bleed. :D

Is that the one who makes you blush ?

And Harrison Ford actually stapled his hat on to film Indiana Jones (first film) and did all of his stunt work himself.

 Nothing to make you feel like you slept in (at 7:30am) than having your husband (who is on Mountain Time) call you saying he's been up for an hour.

Any good ideas to get rid of slugs? They have invaded two of my mum plants and just look disqusting. Guess I'll just pick them off tomorrow night when they appear. It was kinda funny when I went out the other night and thought they were long skinny leaves (we have a tree that have leaves that look exactly like those slugs did) and I was going to grab it and pick it off.... AND IT MOVED AND FELT SLIMEY.

DON, hold on to your hat! Looks like we're getting quite the storm in the next few days. Winds at 20-40 mph with 50 mph gusts and lots of rain apparently. I think I'll run my errands today so I can curl up at home tomorrow.
Oh NO! My son is supposed to camp tomorrow night with the boy scouts (they're providing overnight "security" for a local Catholic church's fall bazaar sale thing...).

Betcha I don't have a quiet night at home!

Yikes, I haven't heard that one. And he was literally sick and tired when he decided to shoot the scimitar guy.

Ewww, I just got home again after running errands and it's so humid outside I was sopping wet after carrying in the groceries. And the plan was to dig up some more space for the azeleas before it starts to rain. ICKY! So I'm just going to putter around inside instead I think. Humidity and I just don't get along.

I hope he can still go to 'provide security'... maybe they can camp indoors.

Wasn't that at the beginning of the film? Of course, they do scenes not in order according to the movie.

Phew! I got on a cooking spree today (LOVE my new range) and made marinara sauce (well, that's still stewing in the crockpot), tzatziki, and mac n cheese (with Swiss cheese). Put the left overs in two baking dishes so I can make that later. Tomorrow or Saturday I'm going to make a apple pie with quark. I feel a lot more confident cooking with the electric range... never got used to gas.
I think that if tomorrow's weather is as bad as they say it will be, I'll be cleaning up a storm for the next two days. House definitely needs it.

Yea, Jenn...I saw the weather... NOT looking good!
I'm just hoping it slows down by Sunday evening when the boys are supposed to get back (worst case Monday). I was planning on going to MD this weekend but decided against it since I'd leave Friday and weather would just stink. Driving on 95 in cruddy weather is just super blech.
I love storms so I'm looking forward to it. I ran all my errands today so I can just chill tomorrow. I hope your son can do his camping trip somehow. And you can get a peaceful night at home...

One month from today I'll finally be hitched. :)

Today I was looking at condos and houses, and it's kinda depressing. How can a person who makes $65k a year be priced out of the market? Southern California sucks for single income families.

They say a good rule of thumb is your annual income times 10 is your price range. That's still not enough up here in Northern California on the coast. Well, maybe a condo. I'm not sure. You could buy a huge house here for $650,000.00.
