I'm proud to be a Southerner (I have ancestors who fought in th' war of nawthurn aggresshin), but I don't mind being called a Yank(ee) too much, since they're just trying to identify me as an American.

That war was 150 years ago, 50 years prior to half my family coming to the U.S. I think it is time all of you southerners who still talk about it like it happened a decade ago get over it.
BTW In Germany they do not call Americans "yank's" they call us Ami's.

I have lots of relatives and ancestors from the South. We had relatives that fought on both the North and South side against each other. We had relatives that fought for both sides, after being captured. :o We had one relative that died in the North's prison after the war was over. It was a tragic war.
