I'm doing good. Took the train south last night and now I'm back at my mom's and had to sleep all morning since I don't sleep any on the autotrain. I wake up each time it stops, switches tracks and what not... argh!
It's definitely gotten a bit cooler, pretty windy today. Should get my act together and go to the local 'monastery' for their open house but I don't feel like doing anything.
Next week I'm going to see the Mount Athos exhibition that they are having in Helsinki. First one ever in the whole world... coooool! It'll probably give my wallet a hit as supposedly the gift shop is a bit too neat. :p
I'm starting to get ready to go home. 13 more days and some hours and I'll be home... a day after I get to the US. Next Sunday I go to Sweden to take the car back and get it shipped over to the US. It'll have just over 2000 miles on it then. It drives great, but right now it just needs a bath after all these gravel roads.
OK, guess I need to empty the car and such.... then maybe some more embroidery.

Overseas, that's the generic slang term for everyone from the United States. Hurts, I know... ;) :D I'm proud to be a Southerner (I have ancestors who fought in th' war of nawthurn aggresshin), but I don't mind being called a Yank(ee) too much, since they're just trying to identify me as an American.

I'm proud to be a Southern girl as well.

That war was 150 years ago, 50 years prior to half my family coming to the U.S. I think it is time all of you southerners who still talk about it like it happened a decade ago get over it.

BTW In Germany they do not call Americans "yank's" they call us Ami's.

We're still waiting for an apology. I know, I know.

In French "Ami" means friend. That's cool.

Lol Greg...I was just about to ask "St. WHO?!!" :p

For an obscure saint he actually has a very wide veneration. Every Friday our priest used to do Paraklesis to St. Phanourios. I think if we ever build our new church we are going to have a side chapel dedicated to him. He is one of the few saints that constantly has a real oil lampada in front of his icon in my parish.

I have lots of relatives and ancestors from the South. We had relatives that fought on both the North and South side against each other. We had relatives that fought for both sides, after being captured. :o We had one relative that died in the North's prison after the war was over. It was a tragic war.

ok, there are times when I wonder if I was actually blessed with a brain....
I got up at 6:30 this morning to get off the train, drove home, went to bed and slept til noon (I can't sleep on auto trains) and now I've been on the computer for like 5 hrs catching up on email and boards... and I was wondering why I'm so hungry. DUH!!!!! I've only had like a bit of soda today.
Now I have to go to the grocery store cuz the fridge is full but there is absolutely NOTHING to eat in there. Typical of my mom's fridge...

But it ended 150 years ago, and the ancestors of half this country didn't even live in North America at the time. I am not a northerner, I am an American.
