I second that.

Ever been in a soccer riot? I was in Germany in '90 when the Germans won the World Cup in Soccer and while there were no punches being thrown, it was a riot. Drunken Germans everywhere, waving flags, the streets were undrivable because all of the people were out in the streets, fireworks, car horns being blown (a big no-no in Germany) and lots of craziness. It was actually alot of fun!

It was interesting to watch (and participate in). But, like I said, it was a good riot, and not a fight. I would hate to be caught in an English Soccer Riot. Those tend to get ugly!

Emmanuel, I am sure you can provide insight into what European Soccer Riots are like? Last time I was in Muenchen (Munich) we were warned to stay out of the train station because there was a soccer match that weekend between Bayern Munich and their archrival and also a political demonstration going on that weekend. There were riot police everywhere in the train station, just in case...

Hmm, I like English soccer (Arsenaaaaaal) but not riots.

When France won the world cup in 98, the Champs Elysées ended like a battlefield between drunken supporters and armed cops.

I sometimes go to the stadium to support Paris Saint Germain FC, but you have to be careful to avoid fights between fans (how clever that is). Too many people forget soccer is just a game.

Is that kind of how Michael tends to forget American Football is just a game? GO STEELERS!

Don't tell me what to do, you're not the boss o' me! ;-) ... now that we're back together working on things, you can't just tell me to do stuff like that. OK, maybe you can.

Oh how sweet! I'm only up to post 25, so I hope nothing spoiled all the reconciliations that are occuring. It's already up to post 40 something... are we trying to see if we can close this one down in one day?

I've never been involved in a sports riot. High school pep rallies were pretty fun, though. Rah rah!

Not sure I would actually want to be in the middle of an actual sports riot, though I have done my fair share to instigate stuff by wearing Steelers clothing in Cleveland.

any excuse to fight is a good one. In my book

That's why I've always been a big fan of hockey, ya know, where you go to a fight and hope some hockey brakes out:D
We've tried getting my older son into it, but he hates skating. The little one, on the other hand, will be the terror of the pee-wee league.

Hello again from sunny/rainy/thunder capital of the world Florida. I set some sun tea out after church and the jars were hot when I brought them in as it started thundering and lightning. We had a visiting deacon and he gave a good sermon and everyone sang a lot better this week than usual.

Hey, Greg, I know I'm kinda late to this party, but do you have any of that coffee left? Do the Greeks serve it with lots of sugar, like the Turks?

Ooo that sounds good, especially along with a piece of that gorgeous baklava! It's tea (or coffee) time in Texas.

What a weather roller-coaster. Must be nice!

The messages I've been getting lately, church and otherwise, are geared toward more strict ascesis. After my last post, you can see how I'm struggling with that right now.
