In the US, even in the most northern places (excepting Alaska) it never stays light past 8:30-9pm or so, but in France it was light well after 10pm.

I thought that was weird, too! When I spent a month with a host family in Tours, I would be so exhausted from all I did every day that I would typically fall right to sleep around 8PM. It was so unnerving when I realized the sun stayed up for two or three hours after I was falling asleep.

Yes they are, but the climate of Europe and that of the United States are very different from each other.

Well, it really depends on where in the US you are. Ohio does indeed have a very different climate from say Maryland, but then somewhere like Kansas again has a different climate from Ohio. I'd say Ohio varies a fair share from south to north, as does Maryland from east to west. It's like comparing Moscow and St Petersburg.

However, if you want light summers, come on up to Finland... you barely notice that the sun goes down... if it does. Now for winters, let's not talk about those... It was always a big shock to the system when I travelled over to the US in the summer time and it got dark in the evening. I was scared to death driving as my eyes didn't adjust as well.

Ok, I'm off to Norfolk for about two weeks (I'll be back here next weekend as Kevin is getting chrismated YAY) to move my dear husband and such. Probably won't be on much since we're going to be ultra busy.

Don't worry Michael, I have my mail on hold and will pick it up once next Saturday.

Ok, I'm out...

Glad your mail is on hold. I sent it out this morning, and put an extra icon in there for your patience. I included a mounted print of Sts. Mary of Egypt and Zosima. Any word on when the book will be sent?

Oooh, I thought they were light and airy things. The white fudge looked like meringue for something. I'm not a fan of fudge or white chocolate-y things--too sugary, blech.

Not chocolate. It's just called Divinity Fudge for unknown reasons. I have made it at home. Okay, it is a bit sweet, but it isn't as rich as chocolate. They are light and airy. Only eat in small amounts, though. :yum:

Kevin is being chrismated?! That is so cool!

Many years!

Yup, the 25th and then he'll take communion the 26th. I'm going to have to read the last stuff out loud for him this week so he knows what he needs to. Then we have to go over the confession stuff before he has his life time confession. He's been so busy he hasn't even had time to think of that... so he really needs to.

I'm so beat, the drive down was a pain. I went to the Container Store before and my car was so packed with stuff for moving, the stuff I bought, the dogs and my clothes.

Dogs have been running around like maniacs and now they are beat.^_^
