  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This Sunday has brought a most appealing sunshine to my place. A little blue sky was breaking through the clouds all day. It's also warm enough to encourage some spring growth to shoot up so Im anxious to look for its arrival.

Almighty and Merciful God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your dearly beloved Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon himself the nature of man, and to suffer until He gave His Spirit up to death, giving us the example of his great humility and sacrifice: Mercifully grant that we may walk in His Light, and also share in His resurrection; according to Your Holy Will.

With this prayer, I lift up to You, all those among us who are experiencing cancer and other afflictions. I ask You to give them the grace to living triumphantly in Your Will... with all their fear, pain and suffering being resolved with Your Love and Mercy.
Amen.

Remember, Jesus…

He knows every star in the sky
Every single tear that you cry
His love is here, faithful and alive.

I know that this world can be cold,
In His arms you’re never alone
That’s His promise to you and I.

When hope has disappeared and your heart aches
You might not recognize the touch of grace
But on the other side of every dying dream
His love is waiting patiently.

He knows every star in the sky
Every single tear that you cry
His love is here, faithful and alive.

I know that this world can be cold,
In His arms you’re never alone
That’s His promise to you and I.

With every angel there’s a love that never leaves your side
His love is deeper than the ocean or a mountain high
You’ve got to know there’s hope in your heart.

And if you listen with your heart I know you’ll hear Him say
“You are My child and I am with you each and every day”
He is the one who knows your soul

He knows every star in the sky
Every single tear that you cry
His love is here, faithful and alive.

I know that this world can be cold,
In His arms you’re never alone
That’s His promise to you and I.”

Resting

If I could only fly
I'd go up and look down from the sky
So I could see the bigger picture
And Lord if I could sit with You
At Your feet for an hour or two
I'm sure I'd ask too many questions
'Cause there's so much going on down here
That I must confess I just don't understand

Oh yes, But I have prayed
At HIS feet my whole life has been laid
So I won't worry I won't be afraid
'Cause my soul is resting on HIS higher ways
Should the road ahead become unclear
I am HIS, so what have I to fear
If my soul is resting on HIS higher ways

HIS higher ways teach me to trust
HIS higher ways are not like mine
HIS higher ways are the ways of a Father
Hiding HIS children in HIS love

So let it rain
And if my eyes grow dim with tears of pain
This hope I have will not be washed away
'Cause my soul is resting on HIS higher ways

Someday I will fly
Maybe then HE will take me aside
And show me the bigger picture
But until I'm with HIM
I'll be here with a heart that is true
And a soul that's resting on
HIS higher ways

Today, I find comfort just knowing this is true.

There sure are some pretty tough challenges we all go through in this here life. I was just thinking about this today, and I thought of a phrase in the scriptures that has comforted me. It is in multiple places - here are a couple of instances of it.

Revelation 7:17 “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away the tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrows, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

This is hopeful to me, God will wipe away the tears from our eyes. Isn’t that just neat?

Don't Forget ~ Encourage Others

"Examine your capacity to help people who are undergoing adversities. You may perceive your ability to help them as quite limited, but if you reduce your own ignorance, anger, attachment, and other faults, and increase your good qualities such as generosity, patience, loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom, you will be of greater benefit. If you become fully enlightened, you will be of the greatest possible benefit to all."

Do you have a few moments today for a brief quiet time here at the Hermitage?

Come quietly, and sit with Me awhile, and let Me encourage you today. All is not lost; all is not hopeless.

Through overwhelming tragedies and prevailing circumstances, Jeremiah felt as though his prayers were blocked, encased in hewn stone. Pierced to the depths of his soul, filled with bitterness, broken, bowed down in ashes and ridiculed by his people, he cried out as his strength and hope perished. Then He remembered Me. He remembered My mercies. He remembered My compassions fail not. He recalled these things to mind, acknowledging My great faithfulness. He knew when all else failed, or abandoned him, I remain. He depended on My goodness and in all humbleness, waited for the salvation he knew I would surely bring. He came with a heart of repentance and positioned himself before Me. You see, I am faithful when you are faithful and when you are faithless (2 Timothy 2:13).

“Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.’ The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:22-25).

Therefore, have hope in Me, and await my salvation in your circumstances. Be like Jeremiah, and remember the Father’s mercies are never consumed (John 1:2Lamentations 3:22-25). The very fact that My life was laid down for you verifies this. My mercies are endless for you, My beloved. With complete trust in the character and mercy of My Father, I endured, carried with steadfast, unwavering hope the entire weight of sin for the hope which sat before Me: you (Hebrews 12:2).

Oh, how I love you, My beloved. I am your portion and your faithfulness. Goodness is My nature, My character. I change not. Even if I wanted to change, which I don’t, I couldn’t (Hebrews 13:8). You can take this to the bank and cash it in. It is a check without limits in your life. I am your portion. Therefore, wait and hope in Me. Wait at My feet; pour your penitent heart out to My merciful one until you hear the words, “Arise and shine, My glorious one” (Isaiah 60:1).

Lord, I receive Your great mercies as I trust in Your faithfulness, Your goodness. You are the delight of my soul in the land of the living. I surrender all my circumstances this day into Your capable hands. I confess my tendency to let my circumstances prevail, therefore, robbing my joy and hope. Jesus, You are my Hope, my Strong Tower, my Deliverer in whom I trust. Thank You for giving Your life that I might live and have abundant life, not a hopeless one. I give myself to Your encouragement.

Let me know in the deepest parts of my being that You remain when everything else I have trusted in departs. You stick closer than a brother. You are an ever-present help in times of affliction. I return Your love by trusting You. My hope is in You, Lord, my Everlasting Rock. I love You. I wait upon You this day for wisdom, guidance, hope, and enduring love. I love You.
Amen.

Mighty intercessor's, armor bearers of this life, donned in the Spirit's Armor, daily fighting the darkness, and standing in the power of His Light, the battle is always strong against these, for they are fighting in the Lord's Army, and never do they relent, or compromise, fighting evil and wickedness, standing in the gap, they draw out the Sword, praying with all supplications, knowing it is not by might nor by power but by HIS Spirit,

Mighty warriors, do not think that your prayers go in vain. The Lord stands over you, and sees the victory thru. When you pray, your prayers come before HIM, and HE moves on your behalf. Fear not. The enemy does tremble, when you are down on your knees, in pray!

Nothing is impossible.

Silence of Prayer

In our post-modern world many people are searching deeply for ways of living true to the person they long to be. People quietly seek wiser choices and authentic answers to life’s questions. They discover that there is more to life than success, security and surface satisfaction.

In the silence of prayer is: “a school for discernment” and “a school for loving action”. “a school for a relationship with God.”

In this silence is a line of communication where we simple listen, providing a new foundation for how we relate to Our Father, within the context of daily life. Our decision making, whether small or potentially life-changing, takes place in this intimate relationship with God & leads to positive action in our lives and self-awareness, self-exploration and self-understanding are developed. With them, comes greater understanding of your own psychodynamics.

Next, this desire to communicate opens a door for an intense and persevering desire, a petition to know God’s will, accompanied by faith that God will lead you to know it and carry it out as best you can. The search for God’s will, you need to have a sincere intention to do whatever God wills, no matter what the cost. Seeking to know God’s will with the intention that, once I have learned what it is, I will then deliberate whether or not to do it, is worse than a waste of time. The first criteria is a sincere intention to do whatever God wills, no matter what…obedience.

In this silent space of knowing, there is a “being” content to be in Gods will…observing where you are in this sense of existence and awareness and realizing that it is temporary.

Most of us don’t respond to the gift of faith by doing anything more than tucking it into some back closet of our lives like a claim token to be kept in safe-keeping for the Day of Judgement. On that day we expect to tell God as we stand before Him that we believed in His Son Jesus, so could He please open the gates of heaven and let us pass. Many of us are in for a very big surprise. Yes, faith is an ongoing activity that must grow and be strengthened with every day that passes. That is what the Holy Spirit teaches us.

The lessons in Faith are more arduous and more nerve-racking than any you will ever face in the School of the Holy Spirit. And with faith comes hope and love. With these we face the adversities of life and survive.
