The only way for Trump to be the Coyote is if he's a prosecuter or a judge trying put someone behind bars. They've had several years in which to do that, and now they're down to mere months.More recently, the coyote was fined millions of dollars for sexually assaulting a woman and has been found guilty of defrauding banks by fraudulently inflating the value of his properties.
More anvils falling now. In the words of his former AG; "He's toast." The above two are just the first of them to hit him.
Wile E. Coyote always told us he was a genius too. "My IQ test was perfect!" - Donald J. Trump
You don't bother to argue that he defrauded banks OR sexually assaulted "a" woman. The only way for Trump to be the Coyote is if he's a prosecuter or a judge trying put someone behind bars. They've had several years in which to do that, and now they're down to mere months.
He failed at that, too. When his AG explained to him that he couldn't just order Hillary Clinton arrested, he threw a massive tantrum. The only way for Trump to be the Coyote is if he's a prosecuter or a judge trying put someone behind bars.
Seems to me that anything that ends up convicting him of a felony might be a problem. Receiving foreign dignitaries in a prison cell seems a bit awkward, doesn't it?Anything short of keeping him out of the White House amounts to zilch.
A prison cell wouldn't be the White House.Seems to me that anything that ends up convicting him of a felony might be a problem. Receiving foreign dignitaries in a prison cell seems a bit awkward, doesn't it?
But it's likely to be Trump's residence for the next few years.A prison cell wouldn't be the White House.
but I'd actually rather see DeSantis become the 47 POTUS in 2024.
I've been hearing Trump is going to jail for so many years now. And if that actually however unlikely happens, that will just put DeSantis in the lead for the nomination. And it will be a 45 year old running against an 81 year old.But it's likely to be Trump's residence for the next few years.
Of course, things going as they are, he probably won't be president.
Gov. Ron has spent a lot of cash to let the American people get to know him better:

Which in retrospect, may not have been a very good idea.
This isn't about me.You don't bother to argue that he defrauded banks OR sexually assaulted "a" woman.
But then you ALSO don't say "maaaaybe he doesn't have the character I'm looking for in a president".
Fair point. You are only defending and making excuses for the man who defrauded banks and charities and sexually assaulted "a" woman. You are not saying you support him. This isn't about me.
Show me where I defended and made excuses for Trump, or apologize to me for making false accusations.Fair point. You are only defending and making excuses for the man who defrauded banks and charities and sexually assaulted "a" woman. You are not saying you support him.
I find DeSantis' political positions and the way he wields his power to be too ....distasteful but at least he's not, at his root, a terrible person. He's just a person I disagree with.
He's always hired legions of lawyer to delay things interminably. But now that hasn't worked, and he's lost dozens of election appeals, a sexual assault case, and one fraud case in which he's been found guilty. It's a new experience for him and he isn't taking it well.I've been hearing Trump is going to jail for so many years now.
And he's still nowhere close to being in jail. He's always hired legions of lawyer to delay things interminably. Good, between his rants and Biden's gobbledegook, DeSantis has a decent chance.Donald Trump Goes on Unhinged Rant

Apologies.Show me where I defended and made excuses for Trump, or apologize to me for making false accusations.
What I'm actually doing is criticizing the judicial system for getting virtually nowhere in the last several years in dealing with Trump, and now being down from years to only months.
Again, his fraud conviction doesn't prevent that from happening, if he's elected, nor will any of the other charges should he be convicted of them as well. If he gets jail time, it might make serving as president problematic, but that's a problem for the Secret Service, I suppose. I guess we'll see.I didn't say kept from running. I said kept from being the 47th POTUS. Anything short of that is going to amount to zilch.
Plus he's guilty of fraud in the NY case. Not to mention previous fraud convictions. For example, he might just be a criminal; a court recently found that he committed sexual assault.
It amounts to zilch for virtually everyone else. Pretty much no one else is affected by Trump receiving civil penalties.Again, his fraud conviction doesn't prevent that from happening, if he's elected, nor will any of the other charges should he be convicted of them as well. If he gets jail time, it might make serving as president problematic, but that's a problem for the Secret Service, I suppose. I guess we'll see.
And, again, I don't see how this theory works, since the assumed goal won't be achieved by any of these various trials.
But, I do disagree that holding someone, even Trump, accountable for criminal act amounts to "zilch." Justice and the rule of law is important in this country.
-- A2SG, at least, it used to be......
Why would they be? Trump's the one on trial (along with his family, who are also named in the indictment), "everyone else" isn't involved. It amounts to zilch for virtually everyone else. Pretty much no one else is affected by Trump receiving civil penalties.
So? Are presidential candidates now exempt from criminal prosecution? Maybe I should declare my candidacy...apparently, it gives me carte blanche to commit any crimes I like!Whereas him becoming the next POTUS or not affects the entire world.
And yet, as I keep saying over and over again, his convictions do not bar him from running, or even being elected. And virtually the only way to completely stop him from being the most powerful man in the world again is to put him in jail.
Yes that's whole the point. The judicial system has had years to to make criminal convictions that would have put him in jail and kept him out of the White House, but now there's probably not enough time for that. And yet, as I keep saying over and over again, his convictions do not bar him from running, or even being elected.
