  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I like soup, but it has to have chunks of veggies or meat, poultry in it...i like homemade soups the best, hate tinned stuff...
Me too! I've never seen the attraction of 'cream of tomato'

i particularly like it during the colder months..here we have something called 'lobby'..which has nothing at all to do with politics...it's kind of a soupy casserole, very nice.
Never heard of it. You're from Britain, right?

I can make a good broccoli and stilton soup. Easy peasy and people are always impressed when its served as a lunch or a starter:

1) Boil a few chopped potatoes and a head of broccolli
2) Whiz them in the whizzer with milk and a big chunk of strong blue stilton
3) Back in the pan on low heat, the longer the better.

Et voila :)

here is a link for the LOBBY! recipe, it's a local recipe, like our Staffs oatcake's...scroll down and it's on the bottom left of the page... http://www.kidsgrove.info/dialect.htm

remember the Oatcakes chat we had in the pub last year..mine are soft and lined with melted cheese and bacon (and any other combo you might like)...your's are hard and crunchy like birdfood :D..nice with a lump o' stilton i should imagine tho'..and a good pint of Guinness to wash it down, lest it get stuck in the oesophogus :yum:

God Bless.

Interesting... thanks for the link :)

Yep I remember the oatcake discussion. Ours are hard and crunchy (can;t say I have ever tried bird food to compare them with though) and great with cheese.

In the event of something getting stuck in the old oesophagus:

1) Coca cola
2) 20mg iv buscopan
3) Refer for GA oesophagoscopy, consent for risk of oesopageal rupture.

I have to try that! That sounds delicious! Thanks, Shannon!
I am the queen of soup recipies!

For those anti-cream of tomato-ers- I have a really easy to die for tomato bisque recipie. I really dislike chunks of tomatoes in food- but man... this soup is sooooo good!
