I was sadden by this site. Everything is completely out of context and twisted. I'm guessing it would fall on deaf ears, but has anyone tried to contact the owner of this site and recommend a good book to help clarify???

I laughed too. Sorry, but the repeated pointing out of the 'illuminati' skull and crossbones on the crosses held by the priests was just too much The fact that the skull and bones is found under Christ's feet on the cross is obviously too subtle for them to understand ("trampling death by death") but then these guys are against crosses as well, and not even the iconoclasts at the height of their heresy dared to go that far.

The funny thing about that is that you don't even have to go that far to explain the skull. It says right in the Bible that Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, the place of the skull...

For that to change, I honestly think they'd have to repent of sola scriptura - that's the one common element that continues to divide them (excepting the anglicans, who are not divided but are paralized to make their doctrine consistent in the wars between liberals and conservatives). Everyone has his or her own interpretation of scripture, even within a church (a congregation) there is tremendous diversity (in a bad sense) of doctrine and belief, because there is no authority (nor any possible source of ecclesiological authority within their theology) to stabilize the mess and reverse course.

Don't fall into the same trap they do by judging other members of the body.

Each is responsible for his own faith and a fundamentalist certainly knows the biblical definition of Salvation.

Please do not put words into my mouth. I was not judging anyone. All* Orthodox Christians pray for the salvation of others, whether it be their patriarch, their parents, or their own children.



*Yeah yeah yeah, I'm sure there are exceptions...

I know exactly what kind of people make websites like that. Now that I am an adult I try to avoid them. But I knew a lot of them as a kid being raised in an evangelical family.

The upshot of this is that no one is likely to take it at its word. The music is just the icing on the cake.

The downside is that it does show that we need to do a better job of explaining our unique aspects to people who aren't necessarily interested in converting, not only to our families and friends, but to everyone.
