Hej Kjell...
I agree. Thanks for pointing that out.
Har det bra.
And this very summer I just had my first introduction to those Chick tract things. A Jewish friend had collected a bunch that she has been receiving almost daily on the subway to show me. Really scary and to make it worse she thinks that all Christians believe all the stuff in them more or less.
Ha det bra du ogsaa. Er du svensk?![]()
Those are the funniest tracts I've ever read. No wonder the World thinks Christians aren't smart.
On the other hand, it's a serious problem because most Christians don't believe that garbage.
And I feel like I should address this since it's not something well-known or thought of very much (at least I don't think it is). Referring to their apparent dislike of the serpents on the crosier, if they knew anything about the Old Testament they would know the serpents on the bishop's crosier is referencing the brass serpent on a pole that God told Moses to make in the 21st chapter of Numbers, which is an archetype of Christ in that everyone who looked at it (Christ) was saved from the "fiery serpents" (the devil) that God sent on the Israelites.
I actually just read an explanation of that in the Epistle of Barnabas. It was quite refreshing considering I was like, "what the heck?" and needed an explanation.Yeah, totally ironic that these people claim to know the Bible so well and yet couldn't pick up on that...![]()
Oh, I don't know if I would say that. The site in general, besides the part about Orthodoxy, gave me a pretty good laugh. You will have missed nothing... trust me.![]()
