Wow... I learned something new, something simple really, like "a duh", ever do that? I do, over the smallest details. Cause I posted earlier on Daniel opening his window and prayed toward Jerusalem, and always thought, why on earth did he do that? but then it just dawned on me as I just read Solomon saying of how they would pray "toward this place" (Jerusalem) In 1Kings 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them: Thus....Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Pretty cool, its the little things that make my day when I find a detail I overlooked or just couldnt catch as to why.
Everyone else probrobly already knows this but me

And in the Psalms ...
I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your lovingkindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all your name. (138)
Glad to see yer feelin' better.
You mean like how now we pray this direction?
Isaiah 33:20 KJVA
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down ; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed , neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken .
Yeah I am a little (thanks for everyones prayers) its tolerable at this point.
Theres the Jerusalem above too and the tabernacle the Lord has pitched not man right?

But it's not the only one that we use to show that Peter is the first Pope. FYI.Do you think we all just fell off the turnip truck and so don't know that Matthew 16:18 is the "one passage of scripture out of the Bible" that the Roman Catholic Church has built its entire theology and worldview upon?
I think it more has to do with laying in bed with another woman and probrobly saying, "Hey! dont judge my HEART by my body, because fornicating with her is just not in there (as you might suppose) because of how it might appear (in that way).
Jesus talked to sinners, but I dont think you would find him (positionally so) in bed with one doing that and then saying, now, now, dont judge by appearances (in that way).
God.Says who?

Is Sunday the biblical worhsip day or Sabbath?
.
I am a Christian.Oh no you DIDENT!
I didn't mean it that way.A day being holy is established by God, not you or I. So you worshipping on it doesn't make it holy.
As far as your "but for us Christians" remark. I'll let that one go. Last time someone made a similar remark and I called them out on it, I was accused of bearing false witness. I wouldn't want that to happen again.

That clinches it for meGod.
It says not to bow down to idols. An idol would be anything you make an idol, anything you worship as a god. Therefore, if it's not something you worship, and you bow in front of it, it's not worshipping, because by definition, worship involves something you believe to be a god.Not at all. The commandment says to not bow down before graven images.
So it's about how things look, not about how they are...Maybe I was there mourning her loss of her child? Who are you to assume what your sinister mind thinks I'm doing? Personally, I don't care what you think, I care what God knows. It's quite possible. Adultrey is a sin. So for instance, I should't visit a single lady as a married man, and walk out of her house around 3 AM. Not a good look, even if we're having an all night bible study.
Well, by definition, a graven image is an image which represents God. So, if I have an image, and it's not representing God to me, then it's not "graven".Bad logic. I could just as well say "You ought not go outside because you're neighbor might assume you're about to go sell drugs".
Again, someone calling your good evil is another subject altogether. However, if there is a command that expressly states that bowing down in front of a grave image is a sin, you can't say it's ok because you're not "worshiping" you're "venerating".
they're not holy.
I agree with you. My point is that context is everything. If my conversation with her is about things we shouldn't be talking about, which you wouldn't know from just seeing me from across the street, you'd be right to look askance at what I'm doing. If I'm inviting her to walk to Mass with me, you'd be wrong.
The truth is that I walk to Mass every noon-time, and there's strip clubs along the way, and sometimes the (obviously) female employees are outside trying to drum up business. I have, at different times, invited them to come with me to Church...
Statues are holy? In what way?Yeah they are.
You're right. The point is that what might seem wrong may not be wrong at all. So if someone is kneeling in front of a statue of Mary, it doesn't mean the person is paying even the smallest attention of worship to the statue. The person is asking Mary for the favor of intercession with God. All devotions involving saints and Mary reflect right to God.I dont see how a brother in your church (most especially) could judge you talking to those who he would know full well your church is near such places.
I would think (rather) you might be misjudged moreso by unbelievers driving by who dont know you are on your way to church or something like that before a brother at your local assembly (familar with the area).
Folks don't worship their stomach as a god yet He says it IS their god.It says not to bow down to idols. An idol would be anything you make an idol, anything you worship as a god.
Sure is.Then why provide for the poor? Why feed the hungry? Why clothe the naked? Why not just tell them to pray a prayer...accept Christ and have faith?
Dont think that is what Jesus taught...
