I've got in touch with some people of a "Reformed" church, whom I occasionally see, the rest of the time it is e-mails etc. On and off it was mentioned to me about becoming a "member", though not all those I've mixed with had heard of that position. I was invited to agree by e-mail to a doctrinal statement, rather longer than the Nicene Creed, so I don't understand why what isn't in it isn't in it. I've not been told how long it takes to accept my application, perhaps they have forgotten what with the emergency, and us not seeing each other much.
It was mentioned to me they have disciplined someone, but I'm not told for what sort of reason or what form that took (which could surely be roughly described without breaching confidentiality): perhaps it was someone that had a major volunteering role which would make sense? They are kindly but very shy. My poor brain is working overtime guessing how they think. Holy Scripture doesn't seem to spark them off much. Perhaps I should pray for them more!
