Where does keeping it Holy imply church attendance?

Why wouldn't it imply church attendance? What did Jesus do on the Sabbath?

Where does it say that "all sins will be forgiven, except breaking the Sabbath"?

I don't believe that it does.

I am asking this in relation to both the Bible and the SDA church fundamental beleifs.

Jon Miller

I hope that I have answered better this time.

One of my SDA friends who I often hung out with told me multiple times that if my diet wasn't clean (if I ate pork, etc) then I would go to hell. He believed that the fact that I attended church on Sunday rather than Saturday would send me to hell because I was not honoring the true Sabbath.

Remember, this is what I (and others) were responding to.

So the answer I have (and you have?) is No and No, that isn't what SDAs beleive.

Yes in answer to the original post my answers were No and No.

That person had not studied either of the issues out for themselves so I believe that God would judge then on their intent, and we know that God knows what is in the heart.

But I don't think I have deviated from traditional Adventist thought on this one. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

OK, so if we sin and know that we sin, we can't be forgiven?

JM
If we purposely sin and know that we are sinning, but don't seek repentance then no we will not be forgiven.

But if we do repent God is faith and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse of from all unrighteousness.

go for it the floor is yours...
From what I've read, it seems as if you and jon agree.

I've never been convicted that eating pork, etc is wrong, or that attending services on Sunday is wrong. And I'd also be fine with attending services on any day of the week. Honestly, I think it's a bit archaic to say that setting aside a day other than Saturday as one's time of worship is an unforgivable sin let alone a sin at all (I know you and jon are saying that it is not unforgivable, but you would agree that it's still a sin).

Romans 14 is where I'd get my Biblical support for that.

I am only saying that it is a sin if the Holy Spirit has convicted you that you should be keeping the Sabbath.

That is the job of the Holy Spirit to lead us unto all truth, conviction of sin, etc.

Ahh, so we are in agreement then. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

"7For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. 8If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. 10You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. 11It is written:
" 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,
'every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will confess to God.' "[a] 12So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean

19Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification

22So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God."

whoops, shouldn't have asked the question because of verse 22 >.< I shared my opinion.

Not at all - it is about growing and learning so it is not a problem.
