Yes, but Noah is not a real character. Of course his age is another reason that we know that the story is not true.
Basically we know that the flood story did not happen because there is no evidence of it and there would be massive evidence for it. Instead all of the evidence tells us that there never was a global flood.
actually 1. there is no evidence to state that Noah was not a real person that lived. age is not able to be used as a factor. For one reason, because they ate different foods, had different animal proteins, vegetables, etc. That stuff all changes over time and would not be the same as what we had. Just because we cannot live for that amount of time in our own day and age (and God only knows what all chemicals we have in our systems anymore, and that we even breathe that didnt exist back then), well, that doesnt prove he couldnt have been that old. So far as that is concerned, age should not be evidence against the issue at hand. 2. there is no evidence to support the flood did not occur, and plenty of evidence for it. for example, i realize that some people are 'hey, there are fish fossils on that mountain! water must have covered it at some point!' yeah i hear that argument a lot. That is not the argument i am saying is the thing we should understand by using that. Here is what i am saying. Fish fossils on mountains? sure. there are, they have found them, there is proof of that. People saying, hey those fish didnt get up there because the world was covered in water? sort of true, sort of not true. Everest is the highest peak we have right? (well, so far as being above sea level that is.) well, the fish fossils were found on everest, also true. Do I think they got blown up there that far? No. Do I think the flood was that high? no. Do i think that the world changed so much that the mountain was once NOT a mountain, and fish covered it? yes. that is entirely possible. Also, I would like to state, that the flood, would have occurred in a world that doesnt even look like our earth at this time. Our earth is always changing shape, however slowly you may feel it is doing so. The Earth did not have the same mountain heights then, that it would now. 3. There are geological evidences of the earth having at one point been covered in water. First off, let me go all the way back and explain something about pangea. However long ago that pangea is referenced to have occured, at one point, we assume with pangea that the world and all its plates were connected. The tectonic plate activity is said to have happened due to a mixture of faults, seismic activity, volcanic activity, and the gravitational pull of the moon on earths surface; right? So the plates breaking up and getting pushed around and split, and away from each other, is a major factor of our 'earths masses puzzle peice'. Well, look at it this way. Recently they discovered that Some of our continents, float. They are not actually connected to the plates under the ocean in any way. or if some of them are, not by very strong connections. The reason i say this is because, If another piece of land, gets shoved up under one, then it wouldnt be connected the same as it was before, to the ocean floor. So here, is an article about a continent found UNDERNEATH another continent recently.
Earth Has a New Continent Called 'Zealandia', Study Reveals But hear this, if there are other undiscovered continents, or if, under all this land, there is more water, before you get to the ocean floor. Would that not impact how all the continents came to be, in the first place? What if, instead of the earth, as it is now, getting covered in water, we considered the earth as a different place altogether, where the rock that forms our continents, formed it at a lower level, or rate, and then all the water came and surged up and pushed everything apart and broke it all up so much, that it caused what we have now. when it says, all the flood gates were opened, it also doesnt just include the rain. so next. 3. the layers of the atmosphere have drastically changed. the waters of the rain, vs. the waters that flood up from the earths cores, have different starting points altogether. Say the earths crust broke open enough to release torrents of water over everything so much, and then that caused our watercycle to go into overdrive... i see there being a lot of water in our future. how could this have happened? the same way it is starting to happen now, except then, we had a lot more ice. Evidence of ice ages is all over the place, dont even try to contradict that. but how? How was there so much ice and water then, and not now? all about the ozone layers. We had enough to cover the majority of the world in snow. well, that was before the glaciers became an even bigger issue than they are now. the melting, whether some choose to believe it or dont, is happening. and with it, all of the sea levels are rising. So at one point, just how low were the oceans? (i will stop here for now, its getting too long) .
