It's interesting that higher academia can be so quick to say this or that is a myth, but then can't (or won't) supply any detail.
What makes you think it was quick?

And you keep asking rather inane questions. There is no need to provide details. Do you demand details of the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox stories? You really are not making any sense. And you continually fail at this threads title.

What makes you think it was quick?
Because they apparently teach that.

Inane or otherwise, most of them don't get answered, do they?

If they were being used in lieu of the Noah's Ark story, you bet I would.

Because I'm asking where Noah's Ark was built?

There's what? 9 or 10 stories about a global flood, and not one mentions where the hero of the story lived?

Is it ... as I suspect ... because the Source Document doesn't mention it?

Well, I'm all broken up about it.

Let's have a moment of silence for my grief .......................... carry on.

Nope, that is merely your error. That is also why I asked. AV, when someone asks you about a belief of yours in the way that I did it indicates that you thought process is simply not working right.

Inane or otherwise, most of them don't get answered, do they?

It only seems that way to you. If you dropped the inane and dishonest questions you would be amazed at how often you would get answer.

Meaning you don't have any?

I have already told you that this is the case. Which makes your question doubly pointless. Have I not asked why you wanted to know? You were not able to answer that question honestly.

If they were being used in lieu of the Noah's Ark story, you bet I would.

What? That answer makes no sense nor was it honest. A double failure on your part.

Because I'm asking where Noah's Ark was built?

Because you are asking questions about one particular myth that you know does not have that answer. And there are many more than just 10 flood myths. All different, all with some similarities since there are only so many ways to ride out a flood. Some may have sites of origin. I have not studied them all, and I know that you haven't. But yes, in most cases where the hero of the story started out from is not told since IT DOES NOT MATTER.

Well, I'm all broken up about it.

Let's have a moment of silence for my grief .......................... carry on.

You should be concerned since you abuse your error to the point of it being a sin. And an unatoned sin cannot be easily forgiven. You imperil your soul, if you have one.

But it DOES MATTER if someone is going to come along later and employ need-for-evidence tactics to say the Flood was just a local one.

Yes, that is called accepting reality. As a child you may have believed in Santa Claus. There is not much difference between the Noah's Ark story and the Santa Claus story. Both are based upon just a tiny bit of reality. Both are known to be false by anyone that can reason and be mature.

Santa Claus is a poor example.

His departure point is well documented, and his work is accepted as global.

And you probably still believe.
Absolutely.

Santa Claus is as real as these potato chips I'm eating.

And I've said so more than once here.

Only he's not the Santa Claus that scientists are used to denying.

Wrong, he is an excellent example. "Departure point" does not matter.

I answered all of your rather foolish questions. You have yet to answer why "departure point" matters.

I disagree.

If Santa Claus' workshop started out at the South Pole and ended up at the North Pole, then whatever flood that took it there was global.

The fact that the story is a myth makes the departure point irrelevant. Unless one is a Bible literalist, then there is no South Pole either.

I'm still looking for someone to tell me where the Ark was built.
The Bible never mentions where the ark was built. It is presumed to have been built in the Middle Est since that was the origin of mankind, but it's entirely possible that it was built in the southern US because that's where the Arkansaw is. (Bad, I know) I know you think it was in New Jersey because of the kind of tree pitch used, but I find that argument sappy. Most likely it was in the Middle East in modern day Iraq. The ark was scheduled for a 90 day build, but the union got involved and it took around 100 years. Noah ran up incredible debt during the project, but he knew all the credit companies were going to be liquidated so he wasn't worried. Geico insured it in exchange for the gecko to have safe passage. The Unicorns would have survived but It was discovered that they tasted incredibly good. Sad for them.

Correct -- and I wonder if God didn't have it documented it on purpose, so as to expose any myth that would arise?

If the Source Document doesn't have it, neither should its plagiarized or mockery accounts have it.

I'm aware of that, but mankind was given marching orders and told to populate the earth.

I find it difficult to believe that Noah would be in the area after 1656 years.

Your God, if he exists knows that the Ark story is a myth. And your statement once again makes not sense.

If the Source Document doesn't have it, neither should its plagiarized or mockery accounts have it.

Um, no. You are not reasoning at all.

I'm aware of that, but mankind was given marching orders and told to populate the earth.

I find it difficult to believe that Noah would be in the area after 1656 years.

Now this is the biggest head scratcher of all. I do believe that AV has jumped the shark . . . Again.

Why?

If Adam lived in Mesopotamia, why does that mean that Noah also lived in Mesopotamia 1656 years later?
