Personally, I don't believe the shroud is a miracle.
I haven't investigated it enough to say, but that is mainly just because it wasn't something I wanted to put my time into doing, and that is because I don't feel like I have go around trying to purposely find evidence of or for miracles in order to do anything more than I already have for my faith already, and that is because I feel I already have the knowledge of Him mostly already, etc, and I've also had enough experiences with Him enough in my own life already also, that does, or already has done, etc, more than enough for my faith already, etc, so I just felt and still feel "no need", etc...

But it does also kind of go back to what I just said about us all having different knowledge in what we put our time/energy/effort into knowing or learning, etc...

God Bless!

That is why I think we should be learning from one another, because everyone's knowledge is "different", etc...

God Bless!

Could you learn that
"Etc" followed by ellipsis is pointless?

Don't care what you think about that, etc.

Your going to have to deal with it/that if you want to deal with me, etc.

Just making sure you actually don't want to learn.
You need three periods for an ellipsis brw.

I know that already, and I only use ellipsis when I'm intending a pause for thought, or am meaning to leave something kind of hanging in the air, which I wasn't doing just now, etc...

But am now, etc...

Makes me wonder why unbelievers don't just say that in the first place, rather than try and pwn someone's claim piecemeal style.

Joe: The Shroud of Turin is a miracle!
Sci: I don't believe in miracles, so no it isn't -- case closed.

Joe: A shroud has been found in Turin with Jesus' silhouette imprinted on it.
Sci: Let's investigate it.

Once you introduce magical thinking, you've already tossed science out of the discussion... that's your own doing, and yet you choose to blame it on unbelievers.

I wouldn't call it superior, but anyone who invests more time/energy/effort into a particular subject or area than another has, just most usually comes to have a little bit more knowledge in that area than they have, and that's just a fact, etc...

A person can spend a lifetime moving in the wrong direction.

Because I'm betting that, in some areas at least, you have more knowledge than I, in some areas at least, etc, but just not in this one, etc, not yet anyway, etc, and that is only because I have put in all the hard work and/or great energy and effort and time and dedication into this particular area whereas maybe you have not, or maybe you have not as much maybe, etc...

God Bless!

It's a possibility, but I've yet to see anything to indicate that's the case here.

Really?

If you want to play the MAGIC card, let me point out that a lot of science goes into performing a magic trick.

Yes, really -- Because once you say "miracle," you've already concluded that God is responsible.

First, you've opened with your conclusion -- science works in the other direction. Once you say "God did it," you'll never accept the possibility that "no, He didn't." Christians have burned people at the stake for that sort of thing, don't you know...

Second, you know perfectly well that "God" is beyond the realm of scientific study, so even if He was responsible, there'd be no way to prove it -- it'd be one of those things you'd just have to take on faith.

If you want to play the MAGIC card, let me point out that a lot of science goes into performing a magic trick.

The key word there being "trick" -- as in fraud, deception, or as Raymond Teller described it, "the unwilling suspension of disbelief" for the purposes of entertainment.

Now, if you want to claim that a "miracle" is no different than David Copperfield making the Statue of Liberty disappear (which did indeed involve the science of forced perspective) or The Great Grimaldi sawing a woman in half, well, you just turned your God into a two-bit carnival showman.

Congratulations -- the most militant atheist couldn't have done it better.

If God wants the responsibility, who am I to argue?

As long as science knows which direction to hike, I'm fine.

In spite of the Bible, not with respect to It.

I sure do.

When He says He's "invisible," He means it.

Oh, wait!

You don't like that, do you? opening with a conclusion?

Maybe I should say God isn't invisible, then YOU and your science can stamp Him UNDETECTABLE.

Then it'll be official, won't it?

Science can take a hike.

Who are you to have the slightest clue what God wants?

When He says He's "invisible," He means it.

You certainly haven't detected him.

About the use of ellipses and/or excessive uses of etcetera's...?

I don't think so, etc...?

How would I be, etc...?

God Bless!

A person can spend a lifetime moving in the wrong direction.

And I am assuming you are meaning the study of and/or knowledge of God is that wrong direction, etc...?

It's a possibility, but I've yet to see anything to indicate that's the case here.

That's only because you refuse to ask me a single specific question, etc...?

And maybe because you think you maybe know it all already, etc...

Which you do not, etc...

And I have you trumped in this field of study, no offense...

Which you are no doubt going to ask me to try and "prove" now, etc, for which I will refer you back to our discussion in our posts in and/or starting around page 8 of this thread, etc, where I tried to get you to just simply ask me just a one single question, or for maybe you to share what things you maybe thought you know or knew also, etc...?

For which you gave me nothing and none to either one, etc...

And I'm not just going to start spouting things at random right now, but we already talked about that, etc...

Again, starting around page 8, etc...

God Bless!

It certainly is if you've been getting it wrong... or never took it seriously in the first place.

That's only because you refuse to ask me a single specific question, etc...?

And maybe because you think you maybe know it all already, etc...

Which you do not, etc...

Never claimed to... but it doesn't take an expert to recognize an amateur... or a quack.

And I have you trumped in this field of study, no offense...

None taken -- I have to believe in your superior knowledge of God to be offended as opposed to amused by your claims.

Nah... no need to ask unless I had an interest beyond entertainment value. And frankly, that ship sailed several pages ago.
