Considering that is basically a variation on democracy, that's quite a claim. Do you have a source?Lifesaver said:It has been one of the greatest evils of the world for a century and a half now.
It may be news to most here, but any Catholic who supports, campaigns for, consciously help or even vote for any communist/socialist party is ipso facto excommunicated.

Funny. When you say that. The words: bloody US backed coup, Allende, and Chile; all come to mind. Help me out here. Just what am I thinking of? Just why should these words, random and nonsensical as they probably are, come to my mind, in response to your claim?Lifesaver said:never has any form of communism been elected.
So, interesting point Lifesaver: perhaps often missed. This was an early example of pre-emption; to save Chile from poverty. I hope that the Chileans were suitably grateful about being so liberated from their own democratic choice.Lifesaver said:As bloody as the coup were, Allende was ruining Chile and sinking it into poverty.
I'll be watching. Wise points.Law of Loud said:To be continued...
Good grief, Australlia is the second most conservative nation (the first being the Vatican) and you still complain about people having too much freedom.Australia
1. Abortion
2. Lack of morals
3. Bureaucracy
4. The smaller, but still significant gap between rich and poor and exploitation of the poor by the rich.
I don't agree with you there. I don't think we are conservative at all. In alot of ways we are the USA is more conservative than us (e.g. our drinking age is 18, topless sunbathing on beaches is legal).Good grief, Australlia is the second most conservative nation (the first being the Vatican) and you still complain about people having too much freedom.
Ah, but it is all subjectiveAduro Amnis said:You banned gay marriage and both dominate parties are conservative.

Where did you get your information?

Three cheers for topless beaches!
The idea of subjectivity, in a place the size of Oz, just gave me an aboriginal moment.Bizzlebin Imperatoris said:Ah, but it is all subjective
